Appt. today---what base for estradiol?

hi everyone---

i had a dr. appointment toda and managed to get myself a prescription for

estradiol and

an extended yeast culture that will incubate for 6 weeks.

the doctor basically told me that hormones weren't a factor for me because i am

so

young...but he did give me prescription which i am thankful for.

this is my question...should i just go and get Estrace or get a compounded one?

And, if

compounded, what is a good base?

Some people say Estrace is fine, other say to stay away from all those

chemicals...

Could this really help me?

As to whether to get the Estradiol compounded or use the brand name of Estrace already made up hon.... who knows? *sigh* It just all depends on how bad you might be I'd think. If your skin is really abraded and highly inflammed, I'd think the Estrace might irritate you hon. I was just pure raw and it did me. At that time tho I didn't know about compounding pharmacists and I stuck with it using it very sparingly (days apart)... today I'd probably get it compounded knowing what I know but like I said that's because I was so raw already.

But if you do get it compounded I'd definitely suggest you get a really good knowledgeable one (I use Pete Heuseman with Bellevue and order it through the mail ) and he's well aware of us and our condition. But you want one who is aware of where you're putting that directly on the vulva so they'll know to leave out those irritating 'base' ingredients.

Also he takes most insurance plans as well. I just get that prescription in my hand and once I do (remember you can have that prescription filled wherever 'you' want to) I just mail it or fax it out once I've called and set up my account first, (by the way I used a cr. card since at the time I had lousy hospitalization)

It usually comes within 3-4 days in the mail. Also just a tip, ask your doctor to put refills on it. That way when you need more you just give a call and it's there. Also they're great to call and talk to if you have any questions as well as suggestions as to how to have your doctor write the script.

Hi :

I have my Estradiol compounded in Aloe Gel. Don't like Acid Mantle. I have used Dee's pharmacist for something else in the past. They are very knowledgable and helpful.

Will your doctor test you for hormones? (blood test)

I would trust Pete's compound. I use his testosterone. In the first months of my disorder, I tried e with vitamin e and it's no more messy than anything else we use, like antifungals, or olive oil or coconut oil. Key is putting it on at night, not urinating for at least 30 minutes so it has had time to absorb and not wearing underwear.

I'm going to have mine compounded by Bellevue Pharmacy in

the emu oil i have been using for the last few months. One thing

i really like about this pharmacy is that they are willing to use whatever you supply them with. I am so protective of my crotch

that i really don't trust the supposedly hypoallergenic bases that

pharmacies (even Bellevue) use. Pete H. told me that they label the bottle you supply them with, put it up on a shelf with all the others, and take it down to use when Rx's are refilled. I love that
