Guest guest
Greetings All, When a doctor gives an estimate as too how long a patient has left to live, it is a guess. The doctor is like the odds maker at a race track. Based on his knowledge, and experience, he gives you this estimate. Many doctors will not give the patient an estimate of how long they have to live, because, they know the odds of their prediction being right are even lower than the odds maker at a track has. There is another reason not to give an estimate of how long a patient has to live. Several doctors I called on regularly said the human mind is so powerful that, if they give a projection of how long a patient has to live, it becomes a self fulfilling prediction. "the doctor told me I have this long to live, and they live about that long. Some think it is like playing God and God is the only one that really knows. Odds can be beaten, long life to you all.
