Guest guest
Eileen There are less-sweet apples, like Granny , that you can use sparingly during your yeast elimination phase. Juicing or cooking apples also helps, not only for our digestions but also causes less fermentation, which is necessary during yeast elimination too. Carrots are somewhat high in sugars, too, which might explain your problem with apple/carrot juice. And did you dilute the juice? I routinely dilute by 500%, but most people should dilute by at least 200% for a while, between having a compromised digestion and dealing with yeast (less fermentation). I have never had problems with broccoli, although I only have some every other day or every 2 days. But I can't touch cabbage or cauliflower, even after 5 years on SCD. The reaction to these veggies, like all the others, vary, so you have to be ready to test. Actually pomegranate are sweeter than pineapple, which is a whole lot more than apples or oranges. I use this fruit listing to check the sugar and fiber levels of fruit all the time: http://www.thefruitpages.com/contents.shtml Not sure about the shakiness part. You will undoubtedly have some adjusting to do if you are cutting back on sugars/fruits, and get cravings, but it shouldn't last too long, maybe a few days. I get shaky when I am low in electrolytes, so are you staying hydrated and boosting your electrolytes? I also get shaky when I stand for a while and my bp falls (have orthostatic hypotension) -- do you suspect you have this issue? I also get shaky when I get hypoglycemic, so I make sure I eat something every 2 hours, make sure I have protein every time, and make sure I have my daily serving of fruit with other food. Check with your doctor if this shakiness doesn't improve. Hang in there. It does get better. Hopefully you don't have to do a drastic yeast elimination phase, just have to cut back on yeast triggers for only a month or two. Kim M.
