Guest guest
So I had to modify the intro diet while I was on it, yesterday was Day 1 of being off of it. I know the book says there is no limitation as to quantity; however over indulgence is bad right? I cannot seem to get full and I have lost about 3 pounds over this week. I know this will subside eventually (Elaine said generally 3 weeks) but I can't keep losing weight! I added Avocado yesterday and seem to be doing o-k. My eggs are made in coconut oil and my yogurt is made from 1/2 and 1/2. I am trying butternut squash tomorrow. Any tips on the hunger? I find it frustrating starting over b/c I was eating SCD before actually beginning it 100%. Since being 100%, my BM's have changed not for the worst but not for the better either--Any thoughts? For example, I was eating Peanut Butter, Garlic (Still in food but only for flavor--same w/ onion), most allowable cheeses, Spaghetti (SCD Recipe w/ added mushrooms and zucchini in sauce), Porkrinds, and some raw fruits (pineapple, melon, strawberries, blackberries) and nuts (mainly in Larabars. But then I would go and eat some rice cereal or corn w/ rice milk (or some other Gluten Free Food).

You had a colonoscopy this week and were on a liquid diet. Not surprising that you lost weight. > I know this will subside eventually (Elaine said generally 3 > weeks) but I can't keep losing weight! Once you add in butternut squash - you can make delicious butternut squash custard following the recipe for pumpkin pie (without the shell) in BTVC. I actually eat in both as a side dish and as a desert. Squash and eggs and honey. Yum. Filling and rich and fattening. Also make 100% cream yogurt or half 1/2 & 1/2 and half cream. It is incredibly yummy. Also cheesecake made with all cream yogurt. > > > Any tips on the hunger? eat more. eat protein. lots of it. you are losing weight because you are not eating enough calories to maintain weight. > I find it frustrating starting over b/c I was > eating SCD before actually beginning it 100%. Since being 100%, my > BM's have changed not for the worst but not for the better either--Any > thoughts? Start on pecan butter soon and see if you are fine with that. There is a delicious pecan butter brownie recipe which you can look for in the yahoo search field on the web page. And then add in almond butter. or, if you think you'll be fine with peanut butter, try that one. As long as you are okay with it, it is fine to start an *advanced food* early. Since you didn't have any inflammation in your gut, at least as far as the visual check of your intestine, it may be that the prednisone was not masking a reaction. And something more subtle is going on in your system. > For example, I was eating Peanut Butter, Garlic (Still in > food but only for flavor--same w/ onion) I added in onion and garlic pretty early (like, really early) and was fine with them. They're hard to live without, IM estimation. Also make SCD mayonnaise - which, if you season it right (I use garlic to make it taste like an aioli mayonnaise), is absolutely delicious - it's great with sunflower oil or safflower oil. And use that as a dip for veggies or with meat - it is also calorie rich. > , most allowable cheeses, > Spaghetti (SCD Recipe w/ added mushrooms and zucchini in sauce), > Porkrinds, and some raw fruits (pineapple, melon, strawberries, > blackberries) and nuts (mainly in Larabars.
