Guest guest
I just wanted to mention that most nuts aren't related to each other ...cashews are related to pistacchio's, but almonds are a family of their own, pecans and walnuts are related, brazils are on their own...peanuts are a legume --so more related to soy & peas than other nuts! ...for myself, i can only tolerate nuts if I presoak overnight in salt water, re-dehydrate in my oven, then grind myself ...and then "rotate" ( never the same kind of nut 2 days in a row )...hth, gisele
Guest guest
The info on almonds that I have say it's in the plum family, along with apricots, cherries, nectarines, peaches, and plums. Cashews and pistachios also have mango in with them. What about pine nuts? Are they considered a nut or a seed? I think the rotation deal sounds like it might be good. I could alternate between pecan and almond, and add peanut in the mix sometime too. Or maybe I should look into getting some Brazil nuts to make butter. I have a dehydrator, so I could look into soaking/drying also. Thank you for the ideas!
