The Walgreens stuff wasn't too bad... took about two hours to take effect. I did not, to my astonishment, have gut-cramps from it. I recommend against the herbal concoctions or the raw food item because we don't know what kinds of polysaccharides they may have in them -- at least with the ducolax or the Walgreen's stuff, we know what and how much. I was terribly upset by all this because I'd just managed to get my gut back in shape after the illegals in the pain meds after the surgery. What I absolutely did NOT want, however, was to go through all this business, and the anesthesia, and then have the doc tell me the clean-out was inadequate, and I'd have to do it again and come back!!! (Like that friend of mine who had either three or four clean-outs in one week, and then the doc tells him he's STILL not adequately cleaned out?!?!) So, I decided to stay within the parameters of their program for the clean-out. Guest guest
Katy, I am so beyond happy and ecstatic for you.. Do you see me doing the happy post colonoscopy SCD dance? You're awesome!! I thank you too! They must invent something better than these horrid preps. Thankfully fleet phosphosoda isn't the go to anymore although my old GI probably still gives it. What an A$$ (no pun intended- he just might as well of killed me with his " doctoring " all of these years) As was said to me the other day and I will paraphrase for you " I am so glad your intestines are in the pink " I think this should be the new BTVC-SCD post colonoscopy motto!!! Hugs- Jodi
Guest guest
Hi Marilyn, > What liquid junk do you have for your prep, and how much? I need to do the Miralax prep. I spoke to my GI today and expressed my concerns that I am fearful to experience any kind of intestinal spasming as it is a very painful thing for me. In Israel I experienced Spasms with that whole ER experience and I told my husband during this ordeal " if god takes me now it is ok " I had no fear Marilyn. I swear it sounds crazy but I was prepared and I called it " I am ready to be elevated " . Not to get too dramatic but the hallucination from the pain was incomprehensible and they couldn't do too much pain wise because I am on LDN (the real freaky by product of being on LDN- in an emergency there is really no pain relief whatsoever and everyone should have it written in their wallet they are on LDN if they don't want to experience rapid withdrawal sickness- crazy.) So my GI actually said he understood my concern and seeing the images and amount of stricturing on my films he said he would not want me to experience such discomfort and he agreed it could be possible. So, he told me to forgo the Dulcolax. Do liquid diet an extra day and be sure to drink the whole Miralax drink. I am going to eat soft foods starting Thur. I am going to take bowel tolerance Vitamin C and Salt (I tried the Salt/C protocol for Lyme disease and it gave me explosive D- so I think it will be ok) If I find I am not clearing I will have a back-up laxative from Wallgreens. I wish it wasn't this hard. I am starting to feel butterflies and nerves that this is for real. I just don't feel strong enough.
