Carol, Ask your doctor if introducing MSM

as a daily supplement would be helpful.

What is very hard to find out is if you are

reacting to Candia feasting on the food you

eat or if you are truly sensitive to all these

foods. MSM helps block and does remove allergic

symptoms. It took 2 weeks for me. Perhaps this

rout will help you expand your diet without

suffering from mis-nurishment.

I am wondering if there is logic to what I just

said since abstaining from the foods will help

build later tolerance. ???? Just thinking.

Hi Carol,

I just thought I'd put in my two cents worth on your letter:

I went through exactly what you're describing there, to a 't'.

Don't despair about being allergic to everything! I was in a state

of food paranoia until I was given a chart of acid/alkaline foods

by my grandmother and read a book on psoriasis and diet. Both

emphasized not only avoiding certain foods, but food combinations

and the importance of an acid/alkaline food balance. The only nut I

am permitted to eat is the almond, which, (joy), was one of only two

foods I have tested positive for as a food allergy. So no nuts to me. But

I indulge occasionally

regardless. My reaction isn't serious in my case.

Oatmeal is a VERY acid grain, but I like it, and really need carbohydrates

for my job which can be extremely strenuous and long. I eat the oat bran

porridge, which minimizes the gluten content. I burn so many carbs, it's

not as big an issue for me, I think.

I also had a problem with 'alternative' grains. I don't know if it's

an accepted thing or not, but I try to eat grains that are from the region

where my family is from: in my case Britannia and Germania. Some grains

just sit in my and ferment, it feels like.

I suggest you, if you haven't already, accustom yourself to eating about

70% alkaline foods, to about 30% acid. This made a big difference to me:

eating more grain, but making sure to balance the meal with raw vegetable,

maybe broccoli and some dandelion salad. If I just eat the acid foods

I set myself up for trouble.

Food combining is pretty important, too.

Someone here taught me some of this, and it's been a huge help!

I'm not trying to dictate your diet, but I'd hate for you to get all

depressed about being 'allergic' to everything. I know how that feels.

My diet's a little better all the time. I hope yours gets better, too!

Jonah

PS: The anti-Candida guide I follow advises a rotation diet while the

system undergoes the cleaning to avoid developing these allergies. No food

to be eaten more than once every four days. And yes, I do know how ludicrous

that sounds. ;)

Liz,

Are you saying maybe abstain from these foods until later when my immune systmen builds a tolerance? That is what I think I'm going to do.. Eat veges, meat and beans..then later add grains and sweet potato. Thanks for the MSM tip. Do you or anyone know where I can find reasonable priced MSM online? And what brand? What dosage? Thanks

I'm a newbie, so I'm just finding out what this list is all about. I suspect I have candidiasis, as I suffer with many of the symptoms. Has anyone heard that taking garlic supplements help with this?

Oh, and I missed what the discussion was about MSM, but my mom takes this for pain with her arthritis and gets it from Vitamin Shoppe. You can shop on the web at http://www.vitaminshoppe.com/ They have pretty good prices and I like the quality of their vitamins. They have nearly all the name brands also, but I usually just use their brand.

I'm looking forward to learning from all of you!

Blessings,

Yes, that was what I was saying. It may take some

time. Two years for me with bread. Understand that

the MSM helps reduce inflammation in your system and

you don't want to mask the problem you are fighting.

Just for an example. I have a corn sensitivity, thats

putting it mildly. When you eat out, or just out of

not being so observant one day you eat something in

the corn family. Corn oils, corn starch...I realize

my mistake in eating but now I have to suffer for 3-4

days of joint pain and stiffness and mood changes and

energy drops. It is hard distinguishing from candida

toxins from food sensitivities.

I read that MSM helps relieve inflammatory bowel disease

pain, and it is in my bowels that I get the food reaction.

There is allot of information on this board about leaky

gut, if that is the reason I experience these symptoms

or not, I don't know. There sure isn't a test for this.

But MSM actually blocks the reaction you would feel with

eating this food. This doesn't mean you eat the food

anyway, you want to build your system up. But

you may be able to discover what the candida is responsible

for.

Everyone here on this board has a different approach.

what works for them, hasn't with me. Doesn't mean they

are wrong on I am wrong. Do you understand that you have

to find an approach that works for you? I would buy

MSM at you health food store first to try it. It comes

in capsules. If you try it and would like to buy it

on-line there are many places on the web that sells it

by the loose powder. Which is cheaper. Start by taking

1 capsule in the morning with juice. Open it up and dissolve

it in there. Also take 1 capsule in the late afternoon.

Do this for 1 week. 2nd week increase to 2 capsules in

morning and late afternoon. I say late afternoon because

it interferes with your sleeping. If you purchased the

powder then take 1/4 tsp. and then increase to 1/2 tsp.

When you experience reduced physical symptoms you can then

take a maintenance dose just in the morning.

I took mine for 2 months before taking a maintenance dose.

From what I read you cannot overtake this stuff, its not

harmful. But you will get too much gas on high dosage,

this is a sign to cut back. MSM is found in the section

where they sell arthritis supplements. Look for it sold

separately.

Hi there

I have only read about people who are as severe as you. You poor thing. In

our country we have an environmentalist type allergy person who puts you

into an oxygen chamber. This is very successful as it sounds like you have

been poisoned by something. Your pains in pelvic area and stomach could be

endometriosis. How old are you , if you don't mind me asking? You sound

like you have a lot of things going on in your bod. I think an allergist

will only tell you your are allergic to stuff, which you already know, but

if he is into environmental allergies he might have more to offer. He could

offer you a series of injections to try and reduce the allergic response.

Sounds like to need to talk to some of the crew here that have been on very

restrictive diets, like Jonah perhaps, and start there. Your reaction to

the bomb tends to lend itself to poisoning of some sort.

Hope you find an answer

I know of a source in New Zealand that is very reasonable for MSM. Where do you live, as if it's the USA, or England, the exchange would suit you.

I have been taking MSM now for about 4 years and it has been extremely helpful for the candida. I find it helps remove the fatigue and body aches. I take 7,000 mgs. a day. I use the brand Kal from The Vitaminn Shoppe. It seems to be the most effective at the best price.

Well, thats a trick question. How well do you

think you can stay away from your allergy foods?

In amongst brain fog you will find yourself tripping

up allot. That's me. And when you think about how

long it takes for the food to get out of your system,

it can turn into a long time if you suffer constipation

with it. If your a good planner you may not trip up.

Just a plus side about MSM. I was at a web site which

I lost, a woman pushed her dose up to 16 teaspoons of

MSM and cured herself of candida. I was on another site

where this guy used MSM to kill off his candida and got

no results. It hasn't cured mine either but I am glad

to use it in my program.

As far as how it will help you, it's beneficial support

for your whole system. Really supports your cellular

function. And you must take additional vitamin C with it

and drink plenty of water.

Below is a portion of a page I saved in my notes telling

some more of the benefits of MSM and how it is helpful

to our immune system. LIZ

***************

SULFUR AND ALLERGIES

Over 40 million people are affected by allergies with reactions ranging

from somewhat bothersome to potentially fatal. An allergic response occurs

when the body's immune system reacts to otherwise harmless substances we

call allergens. Your body produces antibodies to fight the allergens. Once

our immune system decides that a particular type of pollen, for example, is

a hostile invader, it becomes " sensitized " to it, and reacts by producing

antibodies that give us allergy symptoms. This can last for years, and

perhaps a lifetime.

Dr. Earl L. Mindell, R.Ph., Ph.D., recommends allergy sufferers begin

taking at least 6,000mg of MSM per day for three weeks and reduce to

3,000mg per day thereafter. Additionally, he recommends people drink more

water and increase their intake of Vitamin C to lower histamine levels.

Allergy sufferers who use MSM swear by it.

ADDITIONAL ROLES OF SULFUR

Tests indicate that MSM may present a blocking interface between parasites

and host (YOU!) by competing for binding, or receptor, sites at the mucous

membrane surfaces. One study demonstrated MSM's effectiveness in knocking

out Giardia. Added flexibility and permeability to the gastrointestinal

tract can result in reduced diarrhea, constipation, nausea, and

hyperacidity. Individuals who experience an allergic response to

certain foods (food allergies -- for example, milk, citrus, wheat,

cereals, shrimp) have reported an improved, or complete, tolerance to these

substances. MSM coats the mucous membranes, occupying the binding sites

that the food

allergens would otherwise occupy. This facilitates normal digestion and

allows the body to extract

allowing proper levels of fluids to flow through optical tissues, removing

harmful particles. MSM strengthens hair and nails, and aides in wound

healing.

Are There Any Side Effects with MSM?

MSM has been used as a dietary supplement for almost 40 years with no

reports of intolerance or allergic reactions. Its toxicity profile is

similar to that of water! Your body flushes excess MSM after about a

12-hour period. It uses what is needed and the rest is discarded.

How Should MSM Be Used?

Results vary. According to Dr. Earl L. Mindell, R.Ph., Ph.D., " Due to its

positive wide-spectrum effect, particularly in maintaining healthy cell

formation, dietary nutritional supplementation of MSM is recommended at a

daily rate of 2,000 to 6,000mg. The optimum effective dosage would depend

on body size, age, the MSM blood level prior to administration, and the

nature and severity of the condition you are treating. This means you can

experiment with different doses to find out what works best for you. "

Sometimes, it takes up to 3 weeks for effects to be noticed.

This statement is not correct.

Dr. Carolyn Bormann (http://www.arrowheadhealthworks.com/) says this:

Be careful of long-term high dose MSM...it chelates out molybednum which is

involved in the methylation pathway,

and it actually over time can increase arterial placquing if one does not

use TMG (trimethylglycine) or plenty of organic sulphur-bearing, methylating

foods like range eggs, cabbage, broccoli, red beets, etc.

I've actually got a progressive ultrafast CAT scan on the same patient (a

friend who is a raw material supplier of MSM and has used high quantities

for more than 4 years)...he has gotten progressively worse and actually done

damage. Remember, everything must be done IN BALANCE...also, don't allow

yourself to get chronically dehydrated. We always use PentaHydrate water

with MSM and TMG to insure the patient gets more of it and flushes out the

toxins that result in the glutathione pathway activation of the ATP and

detox...

A friend of mine with Crohn's disease got fairly ill recently, which he

attributes to his

taking of MSM. I don't know anything about it, and I'm not disparaging it, just

a note from

word of mouth. My friend hadn't altered anything else in his diet before, and he

was fine

before taking it. I'm not sure what does he was on, either...

Okay now I'm a little confused, but it doesn't take much. I've been

using Dr. D'Adamo's website as my guide, thinking it is the most up

to date. It lists essene bread (manna bread) as beneficial for O's,

because it is a healthy alternative to other grains. Ezekiel is

listed as a neutral, you are right, but is essene good, or should I

Essene (manna) bread is beneficial AND should be limited.

As the old saying goes " too much of a good thing can be bad " . In

this case it doesn't take much to make grains " too much " even a

beneficial grain product like manna bread.

If you are sensitive to gluten don't eat manna bread.

Hi ,

In the Live Right Book Dr. D set up amounts of each type of food for us to

use. Any and all grains are listed as 1/2 c. dry (grain or pasta); 1 muffin,

2 slices of bread. For Secretors we can have 1-6 servings a week. In that

book he also says: " Grains and starches are the Achilles' heel of Type Os.

All Type O's tend to do poorly on corn, wheat, sorghum, barley, and many of

their by-products( sweeteners, etc.) These common grains have a very

pronounced effect on increasing body fat in Type Os.The agglutinin in whole

wheat can also aggravate inflammatory conditions. " I think this says very

well that we do better to keep the grains pretty much to a minimum.

Manna doesn't have any gluten.

Re: Grains

Essene (manna) bread is beneficial AND should be limited.

As the old saying goes " too much of a good thing can be bad " . In

this case it doesn't take much to make grains " too much " even a

beneficial grain product like manna bread.

If you are sensitive to gluten don't eat manna bread.

There is day & night difference between a HB meat vs. a HB starch.

Look at the amount of carbs per serving in manna bread. Now guess how

many oz. of meat you would need to eat to balance that out. First and

foremost focus on consuming enough protein.

Okay now I'm a little confused, but it doesn't take much. I've been

using Dr. D'Adamo's website as my guide, thinking it is the most up

to date. It lists essene bread (manna bread) as beneficial for O's,

because it is a healthy alternative to other grains. Ezekiel is

listed as a neutral, you are right, but is essene good, or should I

limit this too?
