/other moderators....although I am not a year

post op, I read messages daily and could use some

advice from those who are " older (in post op years!)

and wiser " for a lady in my support group. Please let

this message through.

Thanks,

April

There is a lady in my support group that is only 2

weeks post op (RnY) and I need help on how to help

her. She has been eating things that she should not

be at this point and has been throwing it all up. I

have encouraged her to stick to the diet that the

doctor set for her, but it seems that she is really

batteling with " head hunger " and just can't seem to

control what she is putting in her.

My heart goes out to this lady and her husband.

Because she had several dr's tell her that if she

didn't have this surgery she would be dead w/in 3

years, she went into it blindly...no research at all.

The only thought I have at this point is to sit down

with her and her husband and explain the physical

ramifications of her not following the diet/food that

the dr set for her right now. She has eaten things

that I would not even put in my mouth and I'm almost 3

mths. post op. I just don't know how to help her.

The last time we talked, I told her that the only way

this surgery was going to be successful for her is if

she changes the way that she thinks/acts towards food.

Please give me any input you can or personal

experiences from " wrong " choices you have made. I

plan on printing them out and giving them to her to

read on her own time. Sometimes people have to not

only hear what your saying, but see it as well.

Thanks in advance,

April
