Guest guest
To everyone that is holding my chin up high right now. I really need the support that you all have been giving me. I don't know what the worst part about this is? Being put to sleep or worrying about what I will be able to put in my mouth. <g> Either way it is pretty scary.=( I was trying to find something to put on tonight so that I could go out with some friends, It is an endless battle with clothes, I can't find anything that looks right on me. I was crying and my Hubby said. Just think in a month you will not have this problem and in two months your clothes will be hanging off of you. I know he is right, but I just want to hide right now. 2.9.
Guest guest
Dear , All the things you've said are the same feelings we've all had. It takes such a long time to get here, that when it finally happens, and the reality of surgery gets closer, it closes in on you. I remember being just the bravest, calmest person till I got into the preop area. I was cool as a cucumber on the outside, but on the inside I was thinking, " Oh my God, what have I gotten myself into? " But you know what? I did my little " self talk " , trusted in God and the skills of Dr. Rutledge, and came through with flying colors. And so will you. I am 4 months post op, and can't believe it! In the beginning you do the liquid thing to let your stomach heal, but that goes by very quickly. Before you know it you will be eating regular foods again, only in smaller amounts. But you're satisfied and full! That's the beauty of it. It really works! P.S. Your hubby is right on, and sounds like a gem! Guest guest
Ok! so how are you guys reading the card? I've tried and I can't do it, but then I guess that doesn't suprise you. See what I do when I have sometime on my hands. I look at all the greeting pages to see what cards they have. I know it's silly, but was gone and had the baby with her and Fred was asleep .So I looked and looked and looked. I had a good time and that's what counts right? I came across the one that I sent to you guys and it made me laugh, so I hoped that it would do the same thing for you. Sorry I haven't been putting my 2 cents in lately, but only been getting on to read a few things real fast and sometimes Aol has been making it even faster if you know what I mean. Nothing like getting online just to get kicked off again. I'm still trying to get things worked out with the company on the w/c. Did get the w/c company to stop the collections company on the payment until I can appeal it. Then the leak in the Van is fixed I think. I had all the new seal's put in it, but it still had a leak. Along with trying to get both of these things fixed, Fred's mother called and wanted me to look for this birthday doll that hallmark sells that she couldn't fine up her way and asked when I didn't have anything else to do if I would call around here to fine it. Right Mom when I have nothing else to do I'll call around. Which I did In between everything else.I lucked out, the first place I called didn't have them ,but knew where I could get them. So I called there, and they had the one I needed. I called Fred mother and tolded her I had it. Well she never get's down here, but wanted to come down the next day to get it. I had plan to go to my brother's that day, but Fred wanted to see his mother, so I called my brother and tolded him it would be the next day that I would be over. Fred asked his mother is she wanted to meet at this cafe that she likes down here but she said no that she would come to our house. Anyway the next day it was raining and the van still had a leak, so I put a plastic bag over the part of the van that leaked so it wouldn't get any water in it. This wasn't enough for Fred ,he wanted me to put a tarp over it, so there I am in the cold rain putting the tarp over it, getting it all straped down, when he came out to tell me ,not to straped it down to much because his mother just called and wants to meet us at the cafe. By now I'm cold , wet and have to take all the stuff off the Van to meet her in an hour at the cafe. I still have to get Fred ready, Hannah ready and myself out of the wet clothes and drive 20 minutes to get there. Ok! I won't say what I was thinking, but I bet you can guess. Anyway I get us all ready , drive the 20 minutes, wait for another hour there, when I get a call at the cafe, they won't be there. Ok! now you really know what I am thinking. So after all of that I have to go home take the baby in , Fred in and you got it, put all the stuff back on the Van, so it won't leak and then his mother calls later and said that she will be coming .Now she will come to the house. You got that right! This is the mother that is always telling Fred he is getting to fat. When she comes in she has his birthday gift with her. One lemon cake , 2 carrot cakes, 1 chocolate pie and a bag full of popcorn balls. Yeah! fat, I wonder why. She looked at the birthday doll and tells me it's not the right one, but that she'll take it. Then she let's her dog in the back to do his little walk and then she leaves. Didn't even ask how Fred was doing. The next day she called and tolded me it was the right doll.Fred tolded her next time we'll meet at the crub. So that is why I sent the card.Time seem to be really short around here lately. Oh! life is beautiful. Vera
Guest guest
Jeri & others, here is another wonderful letter from my friend. I hope that some of you can relate to this & draw strength from the knowledge that you are not walking this path alone; others are there, even when you don't see or hear them. Love & encouragement from Indiana, Rose > Hi Rose, > In this way, you are truly a spiritual midwife midwifing your soul. For > me, it helps me so to think of personal growth in this way. > Transformation is initiation and it seems to me to be the same process > as birth. What we both know is that is a whole lot easier to midwife > another rather than ourselves. How easy it is to lose sight, to consider > turning away when the pain becomes intense, to forget that new life must > germinate in the dark, nourished and protected when we ourselves are > giving birth. Likewise, I have to work to remember to care ever so > gently for the new life. I wouldn't neglect a newly born baby, why then > would I neglect or not protect a new part of myself--vulnerable and > immature! Especially at these times of passage, we remember that we are > not alone for there are midwives to attend to us on our journey; a > circle of women who enfold us as we experience the births and deaths of > heart and soul. Perhaps then, as you have midwifed me, in reciprocity, I > can witness and honor you, stand beside you, believe in you, and > encourage you just as you did for me so many, many times. > Sure, whenever you travel this way, let me know. I will be back in > in a few weeks to site visit Debra, maybe we can have lunch > then? > Congratulations on Brad's engagement. I am happy for them and for you! > The sun is shining here and the quality of light is growing > stronger--spring really is coming! > My love to you, > > >

Guest guest
Thanks Toni, I appreciate your support regarding Damian... Now, as far as getting the doctors listening to you.. this is NOT a new thing, I fought for two years to get a doctor to listen to me, and by the time I did, I could barely walk.... They work for you.. and if the ones you have won't listen then find one that will, the sooner you get treatment the better, and when I say treatment, I'm not talking a little or a lot of Prednisone... I wished they had that stuffed up their rear ends, to say it mildly.... Hugs, -- Thank you Hi sarc family Hope everyone is doing OK. To Pat and Tracie, thank you very much for your input and advice. I just can't seem to get any dr's to listen to me, they are STILL insisting that I forget about the neurosarc despite having all the classic symptoms and this overwhelming gut feeling I have that they are wrong. I have thought about phoning Dr Baughman to see if he has an email or fax no. I can fax a letter detailing my symptoms etc. and see if HE will contact my rheumy because they are not at all keen on any of the sugggestions or requests I make. To and Damian, I send my most heartwarming congratulations. I'm very happy for you both. To Aisha, I send all my loving and healing thoughts and prayers and hope that you are getting stronger each and every minute of every day. Luv to all Toni --- Outgoing mail is certified Virus Free. Guest guest
Rory: I hope from all the posts you did not get the idea your thoughts are not appreciated or welcome. That is so not the case. I'm sure one day......somewhere down the road, you will have issues that are not protein related....or just what to eat ..what not to eat...and one day you will be in a position where you may just want to vent.....share an up or down.....share a special moment....share a fear...or a share a funny moment. At that time, you will fully appreciate all the people here to laugh with you...(not at you)...or cry with you...or feel your lonliness...or feel your happiness...and again...at that time..you will be happy you are a part of a group that shares it all...not just the physical side of losing. I have not had wls....nor am i sure i ever will. I have to regain my health before i can even consider it again. But i thank god if i have an issue i can say it here...i am going through alot of what wls people are going through. I am losing hair...i am having problems holding food down...i have lost 90 lbs due to my near death in early feb. But when i responded to gemellos post, i made it clear that i had not had wls....nor am i sure if i will, yet no one made me feel uncomfortable for posting...for responding...and i am very grateful for that. No one wants you to be silent..nor leave the group. Please dont feel that way. Just read what you want......take whatever words help you...but understand that there are many issues connected with losing alot of weight in a short time..whether as in my case......a severe illness...or wls. I hope u stick around, personally, as your words show you need the help and support also. You just need to open yourself up a little and see the big picture instead of just one little piece. Take care and I for one, hope u continue to voice your opinion and stay....;0) kisses...barbie

Please let us get to know you and keep us updated on your journey, your part of our family here if you want to be. Shell > I in no way intended to light any one up, but, I did. Guest guest
Hi Rory.... Thanks for sharing your thoughts on relationship postings. The post definitely stimulated dialogue...a good thing...right ? You hit the nail on the head when you said the responses were passionate. I agree with Shell....we don't have to agree with everything that's posted and that's what I was trying to communicate when I said in my reply that it's great having a place that we can post about what's really going on in our lives. I too stirred up a hornets nest on one of my replies to a post awhile ago and thinking back on it I'm glad that folk's responded the way they did cause it gave me a chance to really look at things from a different view point. I hope you keep posting cause I value what you have to say. Gordy > I in no way intended to light any one up, but, I did. I guess my > take is that, yes, these things can happen. Guest guest
Rory: You and everyone that is associated with this group is important and so are your opinions. It is the group effort that will get us all through our new and old challenges. You got me out of my shell and actually put me in the dicussion. Good job. So everything is important and as was already stated, hopefully things that are posted will help you and others when those challenges arise. It just helps me to know that others are facing some of the same issues and I am not alone. So keep posting."Rory G." wrote: I in no way intended to light any one up, but, I did. Guest guest
Hi Rory, I just posted a reply to your earlier message and I am one of those who disagreed with you. However, I truly hope that you do not back off from posting just because some of us did not agree with you. I think that the better idea is for folks to participate in this list - posting, reading, agreeing, disagreeing, venting, celebrating, seeking advise and giving it, providing support and so on and on. Hope to hear from you now and again. Every voice is valuable. Take care, Kay in San Leandro open RNY 12/1/03 Rory G. wrote: > I in no way intended to light any one up, but, I did.
