Guest guest
Dear Everyone, I just looked over the VPF site and Dr s no longer does oxalate testing. Also Vitaline no longer makes ox absorb. I have not had any in months and guess what? I'm having severe vulav pain after being 99.9% pain free for years. So I can tell you all oxalates play a big part for some of us. If anyone has any ox absorb laying around I'll buy it. I'm about to be bed bound again with this pain and I'm desperate. The main ingredient in ox absorb that helps me was organic marine hydrocolloids. I've searched the web to buy it but can't find it anywhere. If any of you can find it on the web I would greatly appreciate it. I am hardly internet savvy lol Blessings, Shirley in Louisiana. femifesto wrote: Kathy--You can get it through the Vulvar Pain Foundation...www.vulvarpainfoundation.org.--- In VulvarDisorders , kbrbon wrote:>> So if I ask my doctor to test for oxalates, that won't do it? Guest guest
Hi Shirley-- I know the Foundation just made an agreement with the makers of ox absorb to keep producing it so I know that it is still available for purchase. Also, they are in the process of making a contract with the University of Wyoming to offer the oxalate testing. Supposedly the test will be available again very soon. I am so sorry you are in pain again...i know how that is...I was pain-free for four years and six months ago it came back. Wishing you hope, > > > > The NVA has outdated lists when it comes to drs as > > > > of the last > > > > time I looked. > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > __________________________________________________ > > > >
Guest guest
, thank you from the bottom of my heart and with all I am. You have not only made my day but made my life, literally. I'm sitting here in tears at this news and words can not express how I feel. I had my oxalate levels tested by Dr s almost 10 years ago and the protocol he gave me has worked until now. Hopefull when I can get back on ox absorb I will be ok again. Please tell me where I can get it or when and where as I am unable to find it through normal internet sales as I usually did. I urge anyone who has not found anything to help them to at least try this treatment. It can be a hard adjustment and it DOES take months to see if it works but it may so you should try. All in all it's easier for me to do the low oxalate treament than lay in bed and suffer; if you get my point here? Thank you again from the bottom of my heart. Guest guest
Hi Shirley, Hope you get more OxAbsorb soon. I have done so much and am suffering terribly - 10 years now. The oxalate diet and timed citrate did nothing for me. I did it for months. I am curious though about your recovery b/c I never did the HTO or OxABsorb. Did you notice any improvement on the diet alone or was it the oxabsorb or HTO that made the big difference. THANKS, Sandi How low will we go? Check out Yahoo! Messenger’s low PC-to-Phone call rates. Guest guest
The link that was listed for Ox-Absorb led to a screen that said it was not available.
Guest guest
The most widely used marine hydrocolloid fiber is agar agar which comes from seaweed. http://www.healthy.net/scr/article.asp?ID=1959 Vegetables - Elson M. Haas M.D. - HealthWorld Online Ocean Vegetables?Seaweed Agar-agar Kelp Arame Kombu Dulse Nori Hijiki Wakame Most seaweeds contain algin, a fiber molecule that binds minerals. When taken into our body, it can attract various metals within our digestive tract, possibly including heavy metals such as lead and mercury, and take them out of our system. It is further wise to include sea vegetables in our diets more regularly to provide good mineral nutrition and reduce possible absorption and utilization of similar radioactive compounds, such as iodine 131, from environmental or medical sources. Guest guest
Other hydrocollids are: xanthan gum, guar gum, locus bean gum, tara gum, agar, furceltaran, sodium alginate, pectin, gum arabic, and carrageenan. Other hydrocolloids include carboxy-methylcellulose, methylcellulose, and hdroxypropylmethylcellulose. http://www.freepatentsonline.com/6987182.html Comment: Carrageenan has been a " classic " marine hydrocolloid. http://food.oregonstate.edu/gums/carr.html It is truly unfortunate that producers of drugs and supplements use ambiguous terms to describe ingredients instead of using common identifying terms.
