Guest guest
<< What kind do yall have (anyone!) and what do I need to ask for to be able to turn it on and expect to have internet access, etc. from remote locations? Is there anything any of you particularly like or dislike about the laptops you have? >> I have a Compaq Presario laptop. I like mine, but it is heavy. Mine is one of the least expensive ones. The more you pay, the lighter they come :-) Mine came with AOL on it. All I had to do was go thru the set-up process, and when it asked if I was setting up a new account or using an existing, I said existing, and ow I can access AOL thru it, as long as I have a phone line. ~Shanon

Since the hospital I have to go to is long distance, I will have to change the telephone numbers to connect to the Internet because the numbers I have here at home would be considered a long distance call if I used them at the hospital.....am I making sense? If not, blame it on the pain medication. Carole

I have a regular mouse attached to mine because i get tired using the finger deal on the little pad. the mouse can always be unplugged very easily for when you are in the hospital and don't want a lot of stuff to mess with. having access to one in the hospital was how i found this site!! what a blessing it has been. the price of laptops has come down considerably in the past couple of years. try Best Buy, Circuit City etc; - the big chains will probably give you your best deal. i'm sure you can get information on-line on the different brands ad there is a website that will compare products for pricing and features. i'll try to find it for you - they are impartial. debbie (ark)
