I live in Texas and the hospital I go to only cost me $15.00 for doctor and for my surgery only cost me $50.00. Wish I could help. hugs.

Talk is cheap. Use Yahoo! Messenger to make PC-to-Phone calls. Great rates starting at 1¢/min.

I am lucky as here in the UK not only is seeing a doctor or consultant free so is the surgery plus all the treatment either Chemo or Radiotherapy or a combination of both.

I think that it is a disgrace that people have to pay for any sort of medical treatment when you think of how much we all have to pay or have paid in the past in taxes which should go towards any medical expenses. The amount of medication that I have to take if I lived anywhere else in the world I dread to think of how I would live if I had to pay for it.

Hello Jacki, I do know for a fact Ohio has a Medicaid program for Breast and Cervical Cancer patients, called BCCP. I helped my sister-in-law get on it 2 years ago. Please contact the American Cancer Society where you live (you can get the number in the phone book or call 411). They were WONDERFUL. I called my local chapter in Columbus Ohio, and they contacted someone in the Lorain Ohio chapter who contacted my sister-in-law to get everything set up, before I even had a chance to tell her I had done this. They will help you with all the paperwork, etc. CALL TODAY. They will get you to a Dr who participates in this program. You have to go to where they tell you, but very well known reputable Chemo clinics participate. EVERYTHING was covered at 100%. This program has been in effect for quite a few years, but does not get a great deal of publicity. Good luck...you didn't mention (or I missed the email somehow), what treatment you have received so far. Please call them

right now. Jackie wrote: I live in Ohio Jackie -- Re: About Hill-Burton Free Care Program Jackie what state do u live in? hugs, Jackie wrote: Be a chatter box. Enjoy free PC-to-PC calls with Yahoo! Messenger with Voice. __________________________________________________

P.S. Just to clarify, as I know you said you tried for Medicaid, this program is for Breast Cancer (and Cervical cancer) expenses only. Yes, it will cover any and all medications (prescriptions drugs, etc)related to Breast Cancer. This is a separate program from standard medicaid, sponsored by the American Cancer Society. My sis-in-law waited until it was too late to say anything about her mass, and was stage 4 when diagnosed. She did receive Chemo for 1 year, all expenses paid, which gave her time to enjoy her new Grand baby. They also helped her get on SSI, and paid for Hospice when the time was right for her. Please give them a call. nancy hosier wrote: Hello Jacki, I do know for a fact Ohio has a Medicaid program for Breast and Cervical Cancer patients, called

,

Thank you for that information. I'll be sure to pass it on to others in need. I had sent this information along for those that need financial assistance. My mother's partner is in remission with Non-Hodgkins Lymphoma and used this program while he was out of work. A lot f the participating facilities wrote off any balance his insurance did not cover.

Hugs,

Jackie

This BCCP program will only pay for your treatment ONLY if you are diagnosed thru them and they would not help me for that reason, which makes no sense at all. That's what I was told told me here in my area. Wonder if it's the same elsewhere??
