Guest guest
Sorry about the multiple copies of the email address below. That's confusing. You need to send your initial email to: SCD-list-unsubscribe@... n How to get off the Long Island list I'm posting this here because most of you who are still signed onto the Long Island list are also here. And I've already signed off that list, so I couldn't post this to that list. For anybody here who not on that list, just ignore this email! You can get off the Long Island list by doing this: Send an empty email to: <mailto:SCD-list-unsubscribe@... > SCD-list-unsubscribe@... (click on that link and it should open an email with that address in the " To " field). After some seconds, or a minute, check your mail (or your spam/junk folder). You should find an email there asking you to confirm that you want to unsubscribe. Click on the confirming link in that email. In a moment you'll get an email saying you're unsubscribed. Voila! n No virus found in this incoming message. Guest guest
n, So, you're saying you just successfully signed of the Long Island List? That the problem is that the directions I was given, that are posted at the end of every message on that list, are incomplete by one step? — Marilyn New Orleans, Louisiana, USA Undiagnosed IBS since 1976, SCD since 2001 Darn Good SCD Cook No Human Children Shadow & Sunny Longhair Dachshund
Guest guest
Hi n, The problem is is that some users even after following these steps cannot disconnect from the Listerve due to there being a problem with the software on the list's side. Marilyn is doing her best handling this situation which has become super frustrating as some are directing negativity and anger towards her. Which is so uncalled for. Marilyn cannot manually do all of this- that is ridiculous to even consider, as it is she puts in an incredible amount of time helping all of us. Anyway, she is not even the owner of the list. Makes me sick just thinking of how she feels being put in this position. The owner of the list is going through some trying times personally so the list is not on her top priority right now which I completely understand especially when users become nasty. The next suggestion if users cannot disconnect was that people put a spam filter on the list so all of the emails will go directly into a spam folder and get automatically deleted, that way users that want to unsubscribe and can't don't have to be bothered with emails from the list. And Marilyn and Gay don't have to keep telling people over and over again what to do. This turned out to also be unsatisfactory. I think this is a difficult situation and we all have to do our best to make the best of it. We are dealing with many details out of Marilyn's or anyones control. There are also many many sick people and to be subjected to this non-sense is pathetic. I thank you for posting the directions here and if you have any ideas please share. Guest guest
Hi n, I am happy you were able to unsubscribe. Just because you could it doesn't mean this applies to everyone as perhaps as you suggested people aren't doing it properly to having a bug in the software that is only affecting certain types of email clients etc. There could be so many reasons.
