Guest guest
Hi Dee: My daughter using 'Miralax' for constipation. It brings water into the stool so it doesn't get hard and stuck in the colon. It can be used daily or a few times a week to stay regular. She has had chronic constipation for years. That is probably why no doctor thought she could have Crohn's since they usually get diarrhea. Go Lightly is used as the prep for colonoscopies!!!! Sherri -------------- Original message -------------- HI all, I've no idea about this product but a member elsewhere swears it helped her constipation better than anything else she's ever taken, and believe me this is a gal who's in a really bad way, barely can get out of bed with Scleroderma (a hardening of the blood vessels all over the body) so it's not just an unknown person telling us this, I've know her for years and can verify her character, This is in part of what she says about this product called POOP DOC. ''To any of you who have constipation, I have found a wonderful product that has worked for me like nothing else I tried.I have done all the enemas and all the different herbs, etc....NOTHING. they sent me home TWICE because I could not empty my bowels enough to have my colon tested....now that was embarrassing!............. This product creates a way for your colon to loosen up and you can get rid of stuff that has been in there for months! Even a year! I use to have these "pea" poops.....But - it is said the longer and fatter (sorry!!!) the healthier themovement is.....well, this stuff delivers! I won't tell you any moredetails so that I won't gross people out....but these are the only two things that I know that "delivers".....(the other she'd mentioned previously was the 'Go Lightly') I will write it here ….the AWFUL name of the stuff is called POOPDOC And you can read all about it at http://www.poopdoc.com/ ……their theme is “the wait is over”. It is very different in the way it works and it has given me ‘regular” movements ONLY when I take it. I try to use fiber in between the cleanses and the colace, etc. but nothing works, so I do this cleansing all the time in order to even keep the intestinal pain at a minimum. I've no idea about that product and don't endorse it but it just may help someone else with those problems and thought I'd share it. hugs Dee~ PS I hope Yahoo doesn't throw this into Spam. *sigh*
Guest guest
Good to know the Miralax helps hon..... I'm half wondering if that poor gal who wrote that about 'Go Lightly' has to use that for just BM"s too as she's in such bad shape. I don't know.. Constipation is one thing I've never had (or least if I did, I don't recognize it)..... *grin* there are times esp. on a vacation where I just don't 'go' and it may be 4-5 days. I feel no discomfort or any different different (and you know how we pig out on vacation *chuckle*) and when I do 'go' it's just normal, no problem. I'd mentioned that several times to different docs and they just say if you've been like that all your life (and I have) it's normal for you, so I guess it is. But I sure feel for those who are, it's got to be terrible. hugsDee~ ..

Guest guest
Go-Lytely is not the only way to prep for a colonoscopy. There are several different ways to do it. Also, in case anyone was wondering chronic constipation can also be a symptom of endometriosis. Just like some of the other symptoms that relate to the IBS. Guest guest
One can be constipated because one's nerve are being attacked. " Damage to the autonomic nerves causes abnormal or decreased function of the areas supplied by the affected nerve. For example, damage to the nerves of the gastrointestinal tract causes decreased ability to move food during digestion (decreased gastric motility), resulting in symptoms such as nausea, vomiting, diarrhea or constipation, and abdominal bloating. " Several things can cause the kind of neuropathy that causes constipation including gluten sensitivity because of damage to the nerves for one thing. The rest of the article is here: http://www.nlm.nih.gov/medlineplus/ency/article/000776.htm Here is another article that shows some differences between Candida problem and gluten sensitivity. http://candidapage.com/cccomp.shtml Arline __________________________________________________
