Hi mark ,

Extremely interesting article . Now speaking about the drug induced

minocycline keeping in mind this study was done on 20 patients treated for acne

.. May I point out the article is not dated by references 1945 . May I also point

out that it was not established if any of these patients had predisposition for

lupus AKA SLE prior to acne treatment. It would have been nice to see a follow

up on thiese same individuals to see if they ever developed lupus later in life

.. All 20 patients after treatment was ceased so did their lupus like symptoms

symptoms . None of these patients were diagnosed as having lupus just lupus like

symptoms . We( auto immune patients) do not follow an acne protocol . Also I

just find it odd that rheumatology put out this report yet it has been unable to

reproduce these findings especially in the world of auto immune diseases . Seems

to me that with all the patients treated for RA and other various auto immune

diseases which is far greater then the 20 patients in number seems to me this

would be reported but can not be as it is not seen . Its propaganda in My

opinion from a industry ( rheumatology ) that has continued to fail to recognize

antibiotic therapy as a viable first line treatment which we all have experinced

.. JMO Thanks for sharing this article ,

regards,

socjog

This is interesting and should be read if you are taking minocycline. I doubt if

any of you are having these symptoms, but one should be aware, anyway (as most

of you may well be).

Mark
