Guest guest
Gosh do I know exactly how you feel! I was always so sad inside and wondering what it would be like to really live, just once! All I can tell you is that yes, there can be serious complications with this surgery so be sure you are well informed before making a final decision. I had no complications at all and have done well and feel great. Thank God, my insurance paid for me to have this surgery (BC/BS of AL) but if it had not, I would have morgaged my house to have it knowing what I know now. My surgery was 8/2/99. I have lost 62 lb. so far (as of last week). My BMI was originally 52 and now is at 41. I no longer have knee, hip, ankle, or back pain. I can actually walk without getting short of breath. My husband says that Dr. R " put the bounce back in my step " . I am happier than I have ever been in my life. I still have a long way to go before reaching my goal (80-100 more lb.) but that is okay now, this surgery has given me back hope and that means so much to me! Good luck in your decision and I wish you the best. The people on this list are great and you will find a lot of support here. in AL MGB 8/2/99 62 lb. gone so far!!!! Guest guest
I also wanted to tell you that my only regret about this surgery is that I didn't do it sooner! You are 26 years old and have a lot to look forward to! Don't put anything off. I look back now and realize how much time I wasted. I am so ready to live now!! in AL
Guest guest
Don't feel alone, I just found out today that my insurance company under NO circumstances will cover this. I am SO mad, I feel lost and don't know where to go from here. I am getting started just like you. Let me know if you get any great insight.
