Guest guest
, I know how you feel. I maintained my weight last week and for my WI tomorrow, I'm expecting 0.5 loss also. (I used to be so great about not weighing myself all the time, but I do weigh myself daily....) I don't feel deterred. I'm disappointed but I've know I just have to keep it up! My victories: 1) I've lost 42 lbs. 2) I've put away all my size 26 pants, 24, 22, 20 in that order. haha 3) I no longer am limited by the selection in the plus size dept. 4) Today, I did 40 minutes on the crosstrainer and I could've gone longer. (I got there late and childcare was closing.) Cheyenne > > So I started thinking of my victories over the last eight months: 1) I have lost 53.4 pounds, 2) I now think " How will I get in my exercise today? " as opposed to " What will I watch as I lay on the couch tonight? " , 3) I can tie my shoes without passing out, 4) My clothes are getting very loose, 5) I can look in the mirror and see the changes in my body. > > It is all more than just a number on the scale! > > What are YOUR victories? > > > > > > > 303.4/250/130 > >
Guest guest
40 minutes on the crosstrainer....just figured I'd correct you. Thanks so much! > Cheyenne, you've proven that it's not just the numbers on the scale that > measure success. Losing all those sizes and gaining the fitness to do > 30 min (!) on the cross trainer is fantabulous!!! Guest guest
What a wonderful question ! My personal victories over the last two years are many many many, but I'll just highlight a few: 1. I have learned to balance my life so that I am taking care of myself. This has led to me being able to better handle the stresses and surprises that life has thrown at me. At the same time, it has also allowed me to develop this incredible lust for life that I've always had in me, but often didn't show. 2. Exercise has become a cornerstone to my day six days a week. I am now an athletic, toned, and strong woman. I am doing things on a daily basis that I didn't think I could or ever would do in my life! 3. I have SUCH an ego now! Now I understand that this, in itself, is not a positive thing. However, as I'm sure many people can relate...I suffered from such a low self esteem for so many years that I found zero value in myself. My accomplishments weren't because I believed in myself, but because I was so desperately trying to BE something. What I needed to learn was that I already was something regardless of my accomplishments (or lack thereof), my weight, or anything else. I am valuable because I am a child of God and that's good enough! 4. I eat with purpose and am always in control of what goes into my mouth. > Weigh In Today > > > Well, today was weigh in and I was really anticipating good > results since I maintained last week. I am not afraid to be seen in a swimsuit and in the locker room > I can even wrap one of those dinky YMCA towels around me and it > stays on. Oh Terri this just made me laugh because I distinctly remember the exhiliration of being able to wrap a towel around my body and tuck it and it STAYED! That did NOT happen with a regular towel, much less a cheap old Y towel, at 222 pounds!
