Hi everyone! I have had severe crohn's for over 10 years and have had 2

resection surgeries. I have been on SCD 100% strict for 14 months. This diet has

made me feel so much better BUT. . I think this is only step one for me in my

quest for good health. I had a colonoscopy a few months ago which showed

worstening unlcers. My doc wants me on meds, but I asked him to give me alittle

more time. Anyway I saw a doctor from NJ who treats all kinds of conditions with

a mainly veg based diet. I started the plan he put me on and immediatly my bowel

movements decreased to once a day, and for the first time ever they have been

well formed. His name in Dr. Fuhrman you can google him to get to his website. I

bought his two EAT FOR HEALTH books, and that came with a free newsletter so I

got the one about IBD.

This is what I do-

-Green juice every morning on an empty stomach (any mix of green leafy veggies,

apples, and carrots for sweetness)

-Green smoothie everyday, I LOVE THESE!! Blend avacado with spinach, banana,

apples, whatever you like.

-Soup made of cooked veggies, and greens than pureed.

-Frozen fruit pureed so it is like a sorbet.

I take a freeda multi, DHA fish oil from Dr. Fuhrmans site, GLA forte which is

borage seed oil, vitamin C, sublingual B12, and SCD legal acidophilus capsules.

Dr. Fuhrman does do phone consultations. All of the veggies in the pureed/

juiced state have made me feel great, look great, lose weight, I AM SO HAPPY!!

The SCD was a great start but I really feel that we all need mainly veggies,

fruits, raw seeds and nuts as the majority of our diets.

I cut out honey, cut down on meat, fish, eggs, and oil. I was just eating too

much meat, too many almond flour deserts and my body was not getting the plant

based nutrients in needed. Keep in mind I did eat alot of veggies before, but

know I eat tons. Hope this helps!
