My friend who is 20 y.o. was recently diagnosed with CD after a sudden

flare. She was rushed into surgery and part of her colon and small intestine

were removed. I want to help her start on SCD but I wonder what kind of results

she can expect. Does anyone have experience with SCD after such surgery?

Thanks--Peggie

I do know that SCD is an incredibly healthy diet becaise I recovered from

my cancer surgery far faster and far better than any of my surgeons

expected.

Getting on SCD will help reduce the issues in the rest of her gut so she

doesn't need more surgery, IMO.

Peggie,

My son has had success on the SCD post surgery. However, his surgery (ileum and

10 inches of small intestine removed) was in 1998 and he didn't start on the SCD

until much later - 2008. Someone who had great success immediately after surgery

is Jill Luck. She writes a regular SCD blog which your friend might like to take

a look at - www.scdadventures.blogspot.com It's inspirational!

Hope your friend feels well soon.
