Has anyone gone to surgery with their blood pressure out of control??? Mine is sort of high. What has Dr R had to say about that matter??? Guest guest
<< hear some discussion about high blood pressure >> , I went into surgery with BP hovering around 167/98. In the hospital, before I left, it was already hovering at 146/78. There is a remarkable bounce-back for those of us who have problems with BP. At my doctor's recent checkup, my BP was 140/70. I look for it to go even lower as I continue my surgical recovery. Isn't this surgical procedure just a terrific thing for those of us who are beginning to have things go wrong with our bodies? Dr. R has given me a chance to live again with this surgery. I feel like there are possibilities for me now. January 7th isn't far away, kiddo! Remember to walk a lot in the hospital as soon as you can after the surgery. I found the halls quieter after 10pm until about 8am. The recliner in your room will probably be comfortable enough for your hubby to nap on. I switched from the recliner to the bed quite a bit so that I could cut down on the coughing (I had a stinking cold.). Bring a " wubbie " for him to be comfortable...and maybe a pillow for his back. One of the nice things about our rooms there is that we can control the thermostat. If you're a polar bear like me, you don't like the hospital temperature setting. I kept my room at 70 - 75. Guest guest
wubbie???? what is a Wubbie Dee???????? Thanks for the blood pressure info. I appreciate hearing details. Thanks so much. This special anti bacterial soap that I bought that we shower with the evening before and again in the next morning. Hummmm. Never used it before. Are we supposed to use it all over the bod or just the tummy area, where he will be operating?? I am so excited and can hardly wait to get there. We leave on the 7th, but my surgery isn't until the 11th. Plane reservations are made, motel reservations are made, car rental reservations are made. I am just so excited and am trying to concentrate on writing my letter that I do understand all the whys and wherefores!!!! I keep putting this off. Must just get busy and DO IT!!!!! Thanks again Dee for writing to me.

It is a bit drying but it does a great job of showing bacterial growth on our skin. Keeps us safer for the surgical procedure. Dee in MI.
