So I am having my small bowel series on Thur.

Is there something I can do to help clear the barium out of my system?

Would a vitamin C IV do me good after the tests? I get weekly IV's and I can

just request from my doc if anyone has some suggestions.

I haven't (yet) had a small bowel series (well, not since a rather

traumatic experience in high school with the whole upper and lower GI

series), so I can't compare what I know now against what I didn't know

then.

The body always needs more vitamin C in high stress situations, so the IV

might not be a bad idea.

You want to move that barium along, so my inclination would be to resort

to my favorite vegetable -- zucchini. Eat lots of zucchini afterwards and

for several days, so you can push things right on through.

Make sure you have several days worth of food handy in case you are

unwell afterwards!

This made me laugh!!

If only we knew then what we know now. My goodness I would of been on the SCD

pre-fetus.

Docs say this always helps after a lot of radiation too!

Zuks are like my best friend. Good idea.

Can't freeze it though- already learned that one. How long do you think

Zucchini puree can last in fridge? I am thinking of making a big batch.

Usually, I eat it all up in 3 days.

Yes, I have learned this tip the hard way.
