So in the hospital in Israel it was the first time Amylase was elevated.

I just had new blood results come in yesterday and Amylase has gone down but is

still elevated. Lipase is normal.

How long does it take for Amylase to go down after a Pancreatitis attack? My

RUQ is still bothering me.

Do you think I need to have a HIDA w/ CCK again? Or an MRCP both tests were

normal.

My Thyroid values are very Hypo now too. And my Iron dropped significantly.

Ferritin is very high. Amazingly Anemia got even BETTER than last month!! Do

Pancreas issues cause Hema blood values to go down? Can Pancreas affect any of

these things?

CRP was high too. Vitamin D was very very low.

Thanks!

I suggest you ask for an EUS, to get a good look at your pancreas. I don't think the Hida with CCK or the MRCP will do much at this point, unless your doctor feels there might be additional gallbladder damage. Normally the MRCP doesn't pick up on pancreatic abnormalities as consistently as the EUS does.

I don't know too much about elevated enzyme levels except that high usually means a blockage in the common and/or pancreatic bile ducts. My levels were high until I'd had an ERCP with sphincterotomy, when the incisions drained the common bile duct and helped my Sphincter of Oddi function again (more or less!) If you haven't joined the SOD/CP group I'm in, I suggest joining for a while and ask them. The group discusses elevated amylase and lipase all the time. And many have chronic pancreatitis with or without SOD as well. So they could give you lots of advice.
