You need to be taking a good calcium/magnesium combination. Without magnesium, calcium can't be absorbed into the body. Also, if you are on steroids- prednisone, solumedrol- then your calcium is being leached from your body and bones.

Reneness, Dr.Baughman put me on Calcium without the Vitamin D because of my severe case of Osteoporosis and Osteoarthritis.

He also put me on Miacalcin.

since I have been running temp of 99.8, lately, he has given a script for 5 refills of Avelox which is one a day for 5 days.

This along with the Methotrexate, Imuran and Plaquenil.

Each of us is really different.

Re: Calcium levels

Tracie,I was told by Dr. B. not to take Calcium EVER because I have hypercaluria. I do take actonel once a week, though, because the prednisone treatment I had two years ago gave me horrible osteoperosis/arthritis.And, again, this is jus me.I notice things have been flying around about what Dr. Baughman does and doesn't recommend. I am a major neuro case with pulmonary sarc that rarely flares, subcutaneous sarc, lymphatic and glandular sarc, and secondary Shogren's. Dr. B. concentrates on drug regimes that will pass through the blood/brain barrier. Are there antibiotics that do that? He's never mentioned that, although I'm allergic to almost all antibiotics, and that may be why. He started me on cytoxan. I had a staph/sepsis episode that was horrific (old-timers know about this). Now I'm on remicade and methotrexate. This combo has worked much better on my neuro symptoms and cleared up my subcutaneous and gastro problems pronto. I no longer use a scooter and walk with a walker when the fatigue (which only provigil or ritalin have been able to help). Anyway -- maybe the antibiotics are better for some systems, where the other new drugs are better for others. We all have different combos -- it's amazing the docs are able to get us out of bed at all!Love you all,Renenesstiodaat@... wrote:

Sharon,

That's weird. I've run a temp of 99+ for several years. Let me know if

that combo of meds helps. I've just been told (the last time by Dr. Knox

at IU) that the 99 fever was just something that goes along with active sarc?????

Hope you feel better,

Dr.B gave me the Avelox since I was still running temp.

I cannot understand why the temp at 99.8 or 99.7 makes me feel like it is 104. Very out of it.
