Guest guest
Dear Carol ~ That's great news that you graduated to the (3) month club!! I've been every 3 months since October of 2004, although it gives me little time to worry something is going on with that kind of frequent follow-up. I've heard some doctors do an EKG at least, possible ECHO cardiogram and possible MUGA after chemo and some don't. I don't think it is something they are ignoring; I believe he doesn't think it's warranted, that's all. One year after my chemo finished, I was going in for a D & C - during the pre-op hospital testing, they noticed something on the EKG. After that, it was almost 4 months of "getting to the bottom of it," which included an angiogram through my groin (one of my most pleasant life experiences) Turns out, after they thought I had a slight heart attack, within 3 months, my heart "healed" itself, and my ejection fraction during my ECHO went from a 44 to a 66, which is pre-chemo days. Even if something had been damaged due to the type of chemo you had, there is always room for a miracle, Carol. Welcome to the 3-month club and rest and regain all your pre-chemo strength!!
