Guest guest
Sharon, Hi its Liz sorry I had to run but I was at work when you invited me to chat and I had to go and take care of a patient. My insurance needed no referral from my primary care. All Dr. Rutledge had to do was submit my paperwork I filled out on the internet to my insurance company. Do you have to be referred out to a specialist when you need to go to one from your primary care Dr.? If you do than you probably need to have a referral from your primary care to see Dr. Rutledge. If that is the case have your Dr. give you a referral to go see Dr. Rutledge. Have him send over one referral to Dr. Rutledge and one to your insurance company. Hope this helps. Guest guest
My first thought was milk, as that is the one thing that made me beg for mercy for about 5 hours, but you said no milk. I can't imagine that ONE speck of pineapple could send you off for that long to that degree. If I get crazy with pineapple, the acid gets to me, but not all day. Any chance of staple line disruption? I'm fairly certain I had a small disruption for at least 2 yrs. Well, I had a scope report that SAID so. And I had acid. But one day, it suddenly hurt SO bad, and I was in the car, far from home. Stopped at a convenience store and bought the only bottle of Chalk-in-a-bottle they had, drank down half, then rolled around on the seat of the car trying to coat my pouch uniformly with it. Drove into town, got a bigger bottle and drank more of it and kept doing it every 15 minutes til we got home. I suspect that was the 2nd disruption, when the acid really burst forth and was rushing into my pouch like a tidal wave. Anyway, it stayed nasty til I was up to 4 Prilosec 40mg a day for several weeks, and then was down to a minor roar until my revision. However, if you are already transected, then hit delete! Haha! Guest guest
Renonna! Thanks so much for your reply! I have done cantelope without a problem - but this is the first time I tried pineapple. You are helping to set my mind at ease. I am a little scared that I might have a disruption. My surgeon WILL NOT transect and I fear that I would have to begin the whole process again and them perhaps get back to a 40 BMI before an approval! The things we can create in our minds! Veggies - I don't eat a lot of them as I am not a fan. Salad makes me gurgle, but not the pain like I had yesterday. Thanks for your input! Guest guest
Marjie, I can not eat fresh fruit at all! Bananas, apples, grapes, oranges, you name it, I can't eat it! I get the same type pain you described. I can not eat some cooked fruits either. Don't know what the deal is, just doesn't set well at all. The last time I tried to eat some was two weeks ago, I ate four white grapes. About died. At least wished I would. I also have less than three feet bypassed. How do you do with veggies? Blessings! Guest guest
Hi Everybody, I need help finding articles on therapy's for auditory processing with deficits in auditory memory and word retrieval. Such as, effective speech and language therapy and study/organizational skills training. I already have information on suggested classroom accommodations. Any articles linking LD or auditory memory to RSS would also be helpful. We have recently had Elyse evaluated by a neuropshyc. stating Elyse did qualify for special ed in written language(and should have 1 year ago according to testing done by the school) and should follow up with an audiologist.(appt Monday) We thought the schools would now help her. Wrong! So I networked, called agencies and spoke with higher ups in the school district. Suddenly we receive a call Friday stating a special team meeting has been called for Tuesday 8:00 am and bring as much back up as possible. We have one chance to convince them to help Elyse. I have a message into ARC to try and have an advocate go with me. Unfortunately, my husband has to be out of town on business. Thanks in advance, (Elyse 10 RSS 5th grade, 14 no RSS)

Guest guest
- I don't have any articles. But I know several of the other parents have gone through similar experiences, so I am hoping someone will respond in time. If you get any articles, can you email me or mail a copy to me? I will have them posted into the MAGIC library so that next time, they are easily accessible for anyone who needs them. Thanks ! and good luck! Guest guest
All the recent posts about post op support really got me to thinking, I'm 8 months out and am 30lbs from goal. I feel I've done really well up until about 6 wks ago I had hernia repair surgery and when I was home recovering from that guess what I got bored!!! and I started to eat and try some of my old favorites and now I feel out of control! I'm a carb addict and I'm definetly not paying attention to protein intake and forget about the water! My husband had the nerve to comment gently about this a few weeks ago and boy did I let him have it! (poor guy!) I felt for a little while that I had the right to these foods because I've lost so much weight and am still losing so I must be ok. WRONG. I just want to thank everyone for discussing the topic so openly it really forced me to take a look at my behaviour. I'm back to taking babysteps I guess and cleaning out my fridge!!! Any advice from post ops out there would be greatly appreciated. Does anyone know when the next meeting is at kaiser pt west Sacramento? Thanks in advance
