Guest guest
I have heard that they were going to do this, but I did not know it had already been done. It has been extremely expensive for Kaiser to outsource this surgery, and when Richmond and Fremont opened up, most of us were sure it was coming. I'm sorry to hear it, however. You can call Pacific Bariatrics on their toll-free number (you can find it at www.pacificbariatric.com ) and ask them directly. Let us know what you find out. Thanks, Laurie W. Dr. Zorn - 06/26/03 Is Pacifiic Bariatrics being used anymore? I was speaking with someone in the South San Francisco Gastric Bypass department and they advised me that they are no longer referring any Northern California patients to Pacific Bariatrics. I was told that the last referral occurred in November of 2003 and as such the last Northern California surgeries at PB were done in early 2004. Can anyone verify this? Guest guest
I had my surgery at Pacific Bariatric on 5/17/04. Sorry, I don’t know if they’ve stopped referring there. - Lesa - Is Pacifiic Bariatrics being used anymore? Guest guest
I also spoke to Pacific Bariatrics recently and they indicated that they were still receiving Kaiser referrals. However when questioned relative to to whether they had received any referrals since 11/03 from Northern California, no one could answer the question. BTW, this only came about because I was considering going to a PB seminar which was held at Kaiser Santa on 9/15 and was told not to bother by the South San Fran GB department given the fact that PB is no longer being used. However, I do find it strange that if PB is not being used in Northern California, then why set up a seminar at Kaiser Santa ? > I have heard that they were going to do this, but I did not know it had already been done.
