Am I doing something wrong?

I think you answered your own question there: it's difficult to digest.

SCD is about eating food which can be digested and absorbed so that there

is nothing to feed the bad bacteria in your gut. If you can't digest it,

you are feeding the bad bacteria.

Dr. Gee said, " That which the patient takes beyond his

ability to digest does harm. "

Here are some quotes from Elaine:

Question:

BTVC says seeds are permissable after 3 months of " no

symptoms, " so why are seed flours not permitted at that time? Do

they clog up systems too much before healing?

From Elaine:

Because the quantity of the flour way surpasses the few seeds that I had

in mind when I said " seeds are permissable after 3 months of no

symptoms. " I meant a sprinkling of sesame, caraway, etc., not using

the seeds as flour. I was also afraid of all the fiber with which these

seeds are coated. Don't forget we are using blanched almonds without the

outer fiber coat.

Elaine writes:

For the hulled sesame seeds made into butter, I think that using some of

this in addition to the almonds would be OK provided that not too much

were used. I am not trying to be difficult but many of these seeds and

nuts contains a minuscule amount of cyanide (as does vitamin B12). At one

time when Leatrile (a cancer " cure " ) was very popular, the

doctors pushing it claimed that this small amount of cyandide (extracted

from apricot pits) was beneficial in killing off some cancer-causing

agents. My fear is

that we are using wonderfully nutritious nuts to bake with and if someone

decides to make seeds (also containing cyanide) a large part of their

caloric intake, it will be too much. Do I know what too much is for every

individual?? Of course, I don't. I just don't have custom-made answers

for every combination of foods .
