Dear ,

Is there any way that you can get a job where they give you free health

insurance? If so, you can establish your insurance and after a little while, if

you decide to quit, under the new laws, they have to offer you the chance to

keep

your insurance at the rate that they were paying for 3 years. Its worth a try.

Thank you so much. I still can't believe it. I kept saying over the

phone....'say that again'! LOL LOL

I see my PCP Thursday to start the process. Will keep everyone updated.

Can't believe I can sign off as PRE-OP....

I'm sure my letter will help you. Keep the faith as I did and keep fighting.

To anyone with a small company or looking for insurance, we have a family

owned company with only ten employees and we have pretty good rates and

coverage. I was approved in 12 hours from receipt of my letter. The company

is Humana Employers Health out of Michigan. They do not even require medical

necessity. Their guidelines are only that you be 100 pounds over

Metropolitan weight tables. I suppose medical necessity may allow for

coverage below the 100 pound threshold.

Sincerely,

na

hello, my husband is self employed and he only has 2 employees, do you know

how io can go about looking for health insurance ??? thanks michelle

Wolfette,

I have BC/BS of NC, Personal Care Plan...the only advice I can give you is

to be proactive. Give all your medical records, letters of medical

necessity from your doctors, etc., to Debbie to send in along with the

initial request for coverage. Pers. Care Plan initially denied me because I

did not send in enough documentation showing medical necessity...when I

supplied that information, I was approved the same day that they received

the additional records, etc. BC/BS seems to have a great approval record!

Dear JoAn, My insurance company was the same way. I battled back and forth

with them for several months. Finally went on to Durham and had Dr R do my

MGB on Jan. 10th 2000. Now I have a lawyer that is sueing them and we will

go to court. If I win they will have to pay me 3 times what they owe me plus

court costs and attorney fees. So i will keep you posted. in

Do you know what your total surgery costs were? I am trying to get everything

all lined out. Did you spend 2 nights?
