How much of a dilution do I need to do for colonoscopy reasons? What about Apple juice? Pineapple? Lemon? All of those would be fine -- just be sure to strain it well so there is no pulp. Your normal dilution would be fine -- the main part of the juices is to keep you hydrated and your carbs up since you're eating precious little else! Non-SCDers can use 7-up or ginger ale. And commercial juice. — Marilyn New Orleans, Louisiana, USA Undiagnosed IBS since 1976, SCD since 2001 Darn Good SCD Cook No Human Children Shadow & Sunny Longhair Dachshund
Guest guest
Since ginger ale is okay for non scders, would the homemade kind be okay for us? The recipe is something like honey, ginger and water? Thanks. Katy ____________________________________________________________ Discover the beauty of hardwood floors. Guest guest
Hi Katy, Mine is just the bottle of Miralax (no dulcolax- maybe they forgot- I'll call today) My GI also gave me Zofram OTD if I get bad nausea. I am totally gonna think about you and hope it all goes well. Are you going to be out for the procedure or are you one of those brave freaks that can be awake? <VBG> Jodi
Guest guest
Hi Marilyn, If I juice some lemon into the juice- strain and dilute it all (This is what I normally do) do you think it is ok to keep the juice in the fridge for 2 days? I make fresh juice every time I drink- it's a lot of work but is better for me that way plus I have to work to get the juice so it keeps me not OD'ing on it. LOL. Guest guest
How about homemade lemon/lime soda or ginger ale, like from these sites? http://nomorecrohns.com/beverages.aspx http://www.scdrecipe.com/recipes-drink/ginger-ale/ Holly > >What would be considered " clear " homemade juice > >for colonoscopy besides Pear juice? Guest guest
Marilyn, is seltzer legal? I have been drinking it all along. I thought of it to make ginger ale and then had a horrible thought that it may not be legal. Thanks, Terry Re: juices for colonoscopy At 06:43 AM 3/25/2009, you wrote: Since ginger ale is okay for non scders, would the homemade kind be okay for us? I will say, however, that I recommend caution in mixing honey with it directly. I did it, and then had to clean seltzer, honey and etc. off the ceiling. — Marilyn New Orleans, Louisiana, USA Undiagnosed IBS since 1976, SCD since 2001 Darn Good SCD Cook No Human Children Shadow & Sunny Longhair Dachshund

Guest guest
Hi Marilyn, DO you have one of those seltzer machines at home? Is that what you are referring to? No... <g> I tried to stir some honey and some vanilla extract into a bottle of seltzer for some " cream soda. " The vanilla extract went in fine. When I added the honey, before I could even stir, I had a chilled version of " Old Faithful " geysering in my kitchen. — Marilyn New Orleans, Louisiana, USA Undiagnosed IBS since 1976, SCD since 2001 Darn Good SCD Cook No Human Children Shadow & Sunny Longhair Dachshund
