Guest guest
I have been a part of this group for only a few short weeks. And I must say that just realizing how many other women out there have experienced or are experiencing the same or similar symptoms as I do, makes me feel a thousand times better! I must respond to F. in regards to feeling that this group may not lend the kind of support she's looking for and that Roma's Anthem seemed a bit offensive to her...It would seem to me that we are all suffering from these nasty fibroids and although its not a laughing matter, it would seem that the lightness of humor being thrown into the intense discomfort that we all experience helps a little. I say, " stick with it a little longer, it really is a great, informative and supportive group of women! " and that although it isn't necessarily the cure, laughter is still the best medicine! ) Betsy
Guest guest
Y' know...when my oldest son was first diagnosed with Autism/Asperger's Sydrome...I wanted to see the movie RAIN MAN...but I jumped up and ran out in tears after a few minutes. Many years later I went to see it and roared with laughter. It's just that some of us have been so compromised with fibroids for so long; laughter can be a healing thing, a great way to cope The greatest and most profound comedy comes from the greatest pain. I have to laugh my posterior off any chance I get. gg " betsy761 " wrote: > I have been a part of this group for only a few short weeks. Guest guest
First, my name is Penny, not . Secondly, I totally believe that humor is a must. I used to do stand up in my younger days. What pushed my buttons was that the particular lyrics of the song seemed to take away hope-and that is nothing to laugh at. I believe we need to have faith that our fibroids will die " as time goes by. " I dug up the other songs, etc. and found them to be very playful and funny, laughed out loud, but this one actually saddened me. A combination of it sounding like it gave up on hope mixed in with the memories connected to the classic Casablanca, which has brought tears to my eyes everytime I've seen it (Seven, at least)! And, BTW, Rainman is another one of my favorite movies. Guest guest
Hope is essential. In the myth of Pandora's box...it was the one thing that didn't fly out of the box. We must all find a way to have hope...whether it is real or we manufacture it. I am a great proponent of delusions! hahaha. Polyanna's lenses... Before I could watch Rainman I had to deal with the grief and loss and sadness of my son's diagnosis of Autism/Asperger's, ADHD, OCD, and Tourette's Syndrome! In hindsite, how could I know in fact, that his disabilities created remarkable abilities....the script in my head was all wrong.... Hope...laughter...detours....tears/fears...to Hope again. gg Penny Filner wrote: > First, my name is Penny, not . Secondly, I > totally believe that humor is a must.
