Guest guest
I've been on SCD since May 2007 and thought I had been following it religiously since I was virtually symptom free of UC -- until I entered a flare a month and a half ago. Stress definitely played a role in my flare. However, I had thought that had I starved out all the bad bacteria in my system by following SCD, I would not have entered the flare, stress or no stress. Can anyone attest to this? That is, do you think that stress alone can trigger an IBD flare even if no bad bacteria are present in the gut, or must we assume that any flare indicates the prior presence of bad bacteria? I'd like to believe that I can control all my symptoms exclusively through diet, but I know that when I've flared in the past, stress has been the trigger. Thanks in advance, Jill
