Guest guest
Have any of you had much luck with natural supplements like Aloe, Boswellia, or fish oil? Or natural treatments like accupuncture? I would like to avoid all meds if at all possible, so I'm thinking of ways to supplement the diet naturally. Any thoughts would be appreciated!Alyssa

Guest guest
I take Boswellia when I feel achy or when I feel like my intestines are inflamed (usually when I've eaten a no-no). It does help in my case. However, some people are sensitive to the binding agents in herbal tablets or preserving agents in herbal liquids. It's something to be looked at carefully. I take the Boswellia Complex from Standard Process. I'm sure there are other high-quality bands out there. Hannah

Aloe vera is not SCD-legal because of polysaccharides, and other junk. Boswellia is a resin, and also contains polysaccharides. It is not SCD-legal. I use salmon oil, evening primrose oil, s.boulardii, and l. acidophilus. The thing which you must realize is that large numbers of the stuff which is traditionally recommended for gut issues contains starch, sugar, starchy-mucilage, and other things which appear to produce amelioration of the symptoms, but which, in fact, feed the bad bacteria in your gut and ultimately make matters worse. I use acupuncture for me and my fur children. I found it quite helpful. — Marilyn New Orleans, Louisiana, USA Undiagnosed IBS since 1976, SCD since 2001 Darn Good SCD Cook No Human Children Shadow & Sunny Longhair Dachshund

Guest guest
my son takes 3 fish oil in the AM, 3 at night.. He also takes permability facotrs, L glutemine powder and probiotics. His integrated medicine Dr wants to take him off his Imuran in Sept.. a year after being diagnosed and not eating dairy, wheat, beef or corn. I think he is doing well from all these not the imuran to be honest. Have any of you had much luck with natural supplements like Aloe, Boswellia, or fish oil? Or natural treatments like accupuncture?
