Guest guest
Hi. I am really scared with a new symptom that began recently. I have been feeling a twitch in my neck since late november. I now think that its like the spasticity in my legs. I find when I turn my head quickly its like a jerk. It disappears when I take Clonazapem. I am very frightened because with spasticity comes a degree of weakness and I am scared that my neck may become too weak to support my head and therefore in time a neck brace may be needed. I have had bad headaches or what I thought were headaches up the back of my head for many years now so I am hoping that maybe that was the start of the symptoms for my neck and the neck jerking is as bad as it will get but with all the symptoms I have had they start off small and end up big. Does anyone have this symptom? To refresh your memories about me...I dont have a definite diagnosis for my illness as yet. Just possible HSP or SSP. Two neurology professors and a neurology doctor have ruled out PLS but I feel I am more PLS than HSP. I have had my symptoms for almost 10 years. Use a walker outside the home. My legs are fully spastic and my arms, hands and fingers are affected to a very small degree. I have some swallowing problems and unclear speech sometimes. I have no pain, no spasms or fasiculations (I am never sure how to spell that word) and no bladder or bowel problems. My spasticity is affected by cold weather and anxiety. I have the crying/laughing problem but it is not uncontrollable just may cry too much or laugh too much. I have the intense startle reflex. The three neurologists have stated that I dont have PLS because I have good strength and have had my symptoms for too long. They have PLS patients. Noone else in my family has this health problem. I dont see my neuro until february so would appreciate some imput for those of you here who may have a problem with your neck. I am very scared!!
