Holiday Tips for Safe Food Preparation and Storage

As Thanksgiving approaches, cooking the traditional turkey dinner can give rise to anxieties and questions. A few simple steps will not only ease your holiday fears, but will ensure a delicious and a safe meal for you, your family, and your friends. These tips from the Food Safety and Inspection Service (FSIS), Department of Agriculture, and the Food and Drug Administration (FDA), Department of Health and Human Services, may help you prepare your special Thanksgiving meal. Included are recommended cooking temperatures and times for the most commonly cooked meats for the holidays.
