Guest guest
I am hypoglycemic, and have a lot of hypothyroid symptoms although my tests are within normal [long story there]. Many other things have improved the longer I've been on SCD, and I have learned how to better manage the hypoglycemic episodes, but they haven't disappeared. In general my blood sugar levels have been more stable since being on SCD, but if I don't eat the right combination of foods in small meals every 2 to 3 hours I go into hypoglycemia. I have a poor metabolism at the cellular level and have a body intolerant of medications and supplements, so there isn't much to be done for now. My PCP tests my blood sugar levels regularly, and I have a blood glucose meter to keep track of my fluctuations (I'm trying to get a handle on exactly what foods might be triggering the drop in blood sugar levels -- or it might not be connected to food at all, but rather my body's processing abilities.) Anyway, I depend on SCD to keep my digestive symptoms under good management, and for healthy eating, but I don't expect it to "fix" all my body's medical conditions. Kim M.
