This isn't a points-value guide, but it's what I use as a reference to

figure points. It has calories, fat, and fiber PLUS all the other

nutritional information.

http://www.afcsushi.com/pages/nutrition.html

PS- I eat sushi 2-3 times a week and not just the California Rolls

either. =) I've never gained any weight when I used this guide to

reference points, so I think they're right on. Oh, and take note of the

number of pieces per roll. I find that this guide puts more pieces than

what I typically get. For instance, Small Roll (tuna) *(aka Teka Maki

or Tuna Roll) is listed w/ the information for 16 pieces. =)

Sushi

I don't suppose anyone's aware of a definitive points-value guide to all

the varieties of sushi that are out there...

Actually yes, the Wwers site now has them listed out individually. Also

there is a great website that has nutrition information for lots of

different kinds of sushi. I used that to put the information into

I said that in the original e-mail:

So no...it's not just you. =)

I don't know, I can easily eat ten or more pieces of sushi in one

sitting. In fact I just journaled sushi for tonight's dinner. It's my

birthday and we're going out to Todai for all you can eat sushi. I

pre-journaled the most I thought I would eat so I knew exactly what I

had leftover for the rest of the day. No birthday cake today. I'll have

that Saturday, but I will have a blueberry crepe for dessert at Todai!

So yeah, they're KIND of big servings, but if all you're eating is sushi

I think 10-12 pieces is actually a reasonable, filling meal. I mean they

aren't that big to begin with. I think it's just the IDEA of 12 pieces

that sounds like " Wow, that's a lot! "

The thing that threw me off when I first found that sushi webpage was that

they weren't in typical serving sizes. Like, when I order a Saki Maki, it

comes in 6 pieces, not 16. Granted, I might end up eatubg 12 or even 16

pieces, but I would have to make 2-3 orders, rather than just one. At

first I was concerned that they made their pieces smaller and that's why

they were able to get more pieces out of an order. But the points match up

to the WW points (at least the few point values they give for sushi in the

food companion) when you divide the nutritional information by how many

pieces I actually ate.

Wooh. I hope this message makes any sense at all. =)

Oh okay. I took it as really small pieces. But I guess 2 entire

rolls for a meal isn't totally ridiculous. Thanks for clarifying!

Tory,

Amen on the sushi! Last week we ate at an all you can eat sushi buffet and I am

quite sure I had more than 10 pieces! But it is a low point bonanza!

Depends. That stuff with the deep-fried shrimp buried in the middle of

it, with barbecue sauce and avacado and other sauces can probably add up

to quite a few points.

My favorites have always been the tuna rolls. And spicy tuna. There's

only one place that I've found that makes really good spicy tuna.

Makes sense to me!

I had 14 pieces of sushi for dinner last night and it was worth every

single piece. Mmmm. Most was nigiri. I like just the raw fish and the

rice. Don't mess it up with mayonaise or fake crab.

Well obviously, . I don't eat those because they aren't " real "

sushi (to me). I prefer the rice and raw fish. Last night I had 11

pieces of nigiri (rice and raw fish) and 3 california rolls and I

counted them individually.
