Guest guest
Would it be beneficial to use garlic and mullein drops on the baby, for the ear infection? I have used those here for years, with all my kids, but I have never had a baby so young with an ear infection! Not even sure how they would get one! Anyway, I would think that one drop of each, in the affected ear/s, 3-4 times a day would get rid of the infection. That's what I would do if it were my baby. Marilyn2 Worried about job security? The mother needs to be on SCD. If she's eating grains, sugar. lactose, etc., that will come through in her milk. Guest guest
yes, hard to believe that a newborn that is being nursed has an ear infection. I nursed my twins while we all had colds and they didn't get it due to the immunity in my milk. First virus they ever had was at 1 year of age. Guest guest
I nursed my 3 girls exclusively... I did not ever give them formula. But they all had ear infections chronically starting at about 6- 9 mo of age when they started day care. Day care is one of the biggest factors in ear infections. I imagine anatomy is as well.... my husband had chronic ear infections and I think my girls inherited his small E. tubes...... there is only so much breast milk can do when they are exposed to snotty runny noses that you aren't.... how can your body make immunity to things they are exposed to but you are not! anyhow, if this new baby w/ chronic D is breast fed exclusively, you probably are already aware how BF babies poos are watery, mustard seedy and frequent normally.....p To: BTVC-SCD From: autumn71a@...Date: Sun, 15 Mar 2009 01:58:27 +0000Subject: Re: new baby - chronic D i know my kids are still a lot less sick knock -woodi wonder if she's not nursing?????? - well i put it out there that she should do scd and breastfeed- so hopefully it helpsthankseileen> >> > Would it be beneficial to use garlic and mullein drops on the baby, for the > > ear infection? Guest guest
My boss ( an ND ) food intolerance tests the mom, if her baby is having symptoms ( ear infections, rashes etc) & then removes the offending food --almost always it's gluten & dairy ( + whatever other ones) he's had good results with that. Guest guest
My pediatrician in Los Angeles was a wise old M.D in his late 70's who had us put breast milk into the babies ears and in his nose. Sounds weird, but I guess the antibactial properties in breast milk work. Can't hurt anyway. Poor baby. I had such a limited diet while nursing. I was in the initial phase of getting Crohn's and didn't know it at the time - but my baby sure did. I eliminated everything except grains - wish I known about SCD then. Best wishes, CD - 3 years SCD - 2 years
