Guest guest
I am just wondering if there are any other celiacs using this diet on the list? In my researching, I'm not running in to very many people using this for celiac which seems such a shame since that it who the diet was originally used for. Anybody know of any blogs/websites devoted to SCD and celiac? Thanks again, toddler celiac SCD Jan 2009
Guest guest
Hi ... I am on scd ( a paleo/low-carb version) for celiac.... i had been labelled "refractory" while gfcf --as it wasn't working for me ... I still must avoid dairy, sweets ( including sweet fruits like melons ) and beans/legumes & rotate some foods ( eggs, tomatoes) to stay symptom free ...it is also very important for me to supplement with acidophilus ( since I don't tolerate yogurt or saurkraut :-( ...and also do frequent rounds of antifungals ...my kids have fewer sensitivities than me & when we switched to scd --i put them on a "master the treats first" program lol...where we made scd candy, toffee cakes etc ...we still do "cupcakes" ( muffins!) tho i have gradually reduced the honey down to negligible amounts ...my kids ( twins age 8 at that time ) had the first big growth spurt in several years after going scd --which they were very much grateful for! ...so...so far, so good! :-) gisele
