Kim, that's ok.. We've all been there, done that, bought the Tee shirt...

Most of our so called friends ran out the door when we first get so sick...I

think they are afraid that they maybe asked to do something.. I had three of

the best long term friends and I would have sworn that none of them would

ever leave my side, but when it got to when I couldn't walk that quit coming

by, then they quit calling.. Quit everything... One of my friends called me

yesterday for the first time in a year.. I wanted to ask her where they hell

she'd been for the last year.. but I didn't I held my tongue, one because I

love her, and two I want her back in my life, she's had a grandchild since I

had last heard from her...It really pisses me off, but I not only want my

friends back, I want my life back!!!! So you sent it to us.. We feel the

same way.. so no worries...Your anger and despair are safe with us...

Hugs,

please don't be sorry. We ARE the friends you will learn who will

never find you to be less than wonderful, fully knowing all you have to

bear. Most of us have children and have had to go through all of what

you descibed. I think you are very brave and that you have your

priorities completely in order. It is so sad to know that our children

have had to see us suffer and be weak. it's not the way we imagined

it, is it?

We want to be the strong ones for our kids. My boys were eight and ten

when I became ill and it hit me hard and furious. It took them five

years to finally figure out what I had. Those first five years I was

dx with atypical MS, so severe as to be labeled secondary progressive

instead of relapsing remission. That's because NS has such short

remisssions.

I feel so much compassion for you. I wept when I had to spend my first

night in ICU because I was missing my younger son's play that night. I

was too sad to be afraid...

One thing that may help you is to see a counselor who specializes in

folks with chronic diseases. I did that for two years and then saw a

grief specialist for a year. I still have to see a general counselor

every now and again for depression. It will come and go, no matter how

well you think you have a handle on this. This is a mean disease that

seems to strike the people with the biggest hearts and the most active

lives.

I don't know you, but I do, since I have stood right where you are. I

hope you can learn to figure out which friends are worth keeping and

which ones you can let go of because there's not enough room in the

relationship for the two of you and the illness.

Take good care of yourself so you can take good care of your kids,

Love from Indy,

friends and even my new ones don't understand that is the ones that aren't on

the group and my family don't understand my kids think i can take a magic pill

and be ok they don't understand when we are out why I can't spend hours on end

shopping or why I can't sleep regular hours or why I can't take a tylenol or

motrin and be ok my daughter got upset when I told my pastor that I was on

morphine for pain, so it is nice to vent and this is the best place to do it.

On Sunday night my husbands friend was over he tried to install optimium online for me but ran inot problems he updated my AOL to 9.0 and its on cable modem so I love it( dont even want optimum online now) anyway Yesterday two friends emailed me to say they lost there online accounts and last night figured out why on the bottom of my mail box which is different than the last of aol 8.0 there is now a report spam button right next to the delete button Can you figure out the rest of the story I am resposible for getting Aisha kicked off I'm sure of it It makes sense and it made more sense after last night that I wasnt deleting mail I was reporting it then i got the email of two more people i know that lost accounts I have called AOL and they said they can not do anything to help me what do I do? I have to let Aisha know that this was not the "universe or higher power" that put her in the direction she thinks she needs to go I DID IT! I feeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeel horrible my friends will get over it butI'm worried about Aisha because as much as we all need her she needs us as well can anybody tell me how I go about correcting this problem?

With much regret

Kim,

I understand how you feel, but the Universe/Higher Power works in mysterious ways, and we're all agents of that Power at times. Don't kick your Self about it - we can support Aisha even if she's not on the list!

Hope this helps some!
