Guest guest
Thanks Lu, Sorry I'm so late getting back to you, been away for a few days. We went to Alert Bay and sold some of my jewellery, did okay, just in time to buy some school supplies. Hope everyone had a good weekend. Take care Elaine. Guest guest
Hi , Thanks for your support. I've been feeling better the last few days, except that the breathing is still difficult. My ribs feel sore and I wheeze a bit. Doc thinks it's anxiety, but I don't. Only two more weeks of work until I get to have a big rest, yeah! Hope you had a nice weekend. Take care, Elaine Re: Hi everyone Elaine, I'm glad that your daughter is home safe and I'm so proud of you for standing your ground. My granddaughter is only 3yrs old but I know that my daughter will have the same problems for years to come with her ex. It began from day one. You have the will and strength to take charge and I admire you for that. I'm sorry that the metho is making you yucky. It did me too in the beginning. Seems to be better now, only achey and fatigued. My thoughts are with you and your family. Hope all works out well for you. Love DISCLAIMER!! WE ARE NOT MEDICAL PROFESSIONALS, THEREFORE ANY INFORMATION THAT IS RECEIVED HERE IS FROM EXPERIENCE ONLY. Guest guest
Elaine, So sorry that you are feeling well. I find the same thing happens with me. I take my metho on Sunday night and it use to be that Friday, Sat and most of Sunday were terrible. I upped my meth to 7 tabs last week and found that I only felt bad yesterday (Sat) and today. I don't know, go figure? I usually feel yucky Mon & Tues., but don't hurt so bad. I guess it all works out in the wash.LOL If you find anything out from your doctor, let me know. I''m game to try almost anything. I know my doctor did tell me to drink a lot of water to flush it through the system. (Look who I'm telling to drink)LOL Please feel better soon and let us know how you are doing. Love
Guest guest
Hi , I felt okay today except for the difficulty breathing, but tonight I feel awful. I'm so tired and everything hurts. Is this because I'm due to take the methotrexate tomorrow? If so I don't like it one bit. I go back to see my doc tomorrow to find out about some tests. Maybe he'll have some answers. Hope your feeling well. Take care, Elaine Re: Hi everyone Elaine, good to have you back again. Hope you had a nice trip. Are you feeling any better. Let us know. Love DISCLAIMER!! Guest guest
Elaine, They started me on 3 tabs a week and then I was suppose to increase one tab a week until I got to 6. I had to go alot slower though. I would spend a few weeks on 3 tabs and let my body adjust and then increase to 4 etc. It took me 3-4 months to get to 6 tabs a week. My body did adjust to it. I was still a little tired, I never had any vomiting, just nausea, joint pain, headache, and fatigue. I am now at 7 and this morning i feel a little yucky and tired. I think this will pass. At least I hope so.LOL Please rest and take care of yourself. Our body tells us what we need. Drink that water. Love you
Guest guest
Hi , Maybe I feel crappy because I didn't get as much water as I usually drink over the weekend. I don't know. I'm taking 7.5mg of metho. Yesterday evening I was so tired I just fell asleep on the couch. I still feel wiped this morning and I had a really good sleep. I was only up once with leg cramps. I'm really looking forward to some time off and hopefully get better. Do you feel yucky the first few days that you take metho and does that go away? I hope so. Sometimes you never now what's worse the disease or the meds. Hope you're feeling okay. Take care, Elaine Re: Hi everyone Elaine, So sorry that you are feeling well. Guest guest
Ros, well, the key thing with food is to avoid fat, and meats usually have a high quantity of fat. I don't usually have a problem with most vegetable, except for avocados. they have a ton of fat and even a small bit just makes my pancreas really unhappy. The gas, well, that he may get but if so it's a symptom of pancreatitis so anything you feed him may cause gas. Sorry about that. I also drink a lot of Ensure, the high protein because it's low in fat, but high in protein so I can get some of that in my diet and vitamins and minerals. Kimber hominid2@... Guest guest
Hello Roslyn, Welcome! I am so sorry to hear of your fiance and his battle. However, having a wonderful caregiver goes a long way towards coping. Good luck! I am sure there were many answers to your diet questions, so I will leave that one to the experts! Welcome again! Be well,
Guest guest
Hello Everyone, I hope everyone is doing well. I have had a really challenging week or so. This is what my doctors used to call Traumatic Brain Relapse. I am thinking it is a NS flair. My brain can only handle one thing at a time and it seems to fixate on that one thing. I can't seem to get enough energy to do the basics that need to be done everyday and a lot of days I have trouble remembering what needs to get done. This episode is a little bit better than the others in that I have felt strong enough both physically and more importantly mentally to still have the girls home without assistance. I think that might be from the prednisone, because I have gone the longest without an episode since being on it, and this one was the most mild, although still very frustrating. What really stinks is the next two weeks are going to be horrible and I am afraid it will keep me in this bad spot, or even make it worse! My daughters have a spring concert tonight that I have to find special outfits for. MY oldest daughter has her first communion on Saturday with a picnic here at the house afterword. I have to remember to order the cake, I keep forgetting that. Then on Tuesday they have some big ceremony at school and then Thursday I leave for California to cook some burgers for a judge! I know in my head that I just need to take each day slowly as it comes and just do what I can every day. But I am still afraid that I will forget something important or not do something that needed to be done for anyone, or all of these events! On top of all that, my roof has several leaks and has ruined one of the walls in the house so I have to have people around here banging making all kinds of noise and a mess! The lawn needs to be tended, and I can't find any neighborhood kids to do it, the house is getting messier and if it rains the picnic will have to be inside, then what? I think I broke my finger this week, but I can't rememver how I did it! It is just a finger, and I am really tired of going to Drs and there isn't much they can do for a finger, but it does hurt! I am going to get a splint for it today. HELP! I used to be so good at this stuff! My friends always commented on the great parties I had and asked advice on parties they were having. People always commented on how clean my house was and how nice my yard looked. I could always make a list and prioritize everything I needed to do. I hate this more than the physical limitations. I just moved here a year ago and I invited all the neighbors on our whole street to come to the party when I was having a good week! I wanted to make a good impression. Not so likely now! But the most important thing is My daughter's Communion Ceremony and that she has everything she needs for that. I bought her a nice dress, but I was not raised Catholic, is it against the board rules if I just ask if anyone knows what a little girl needs for her first communion? Well, I hope everyone is having a painfree day and can always find at least one thing to smile about. Lots of Love,
Guest guest
Poor Jodi, Sounds awful so far. I was afraid you might have a hard time with the adjustments - that's one reason I haven't gone traveling since I began SCD. Also 15 hour flights are very physically taxing. Last time I flew to Israel, which was before starting SCD, I found the transition quite difficult for my body and had a terrible time catching up to the correct time, much worse than ever before. Also, I was afraid some of the dehydrated food might be harder for you to digest. Do you know/suspect why the lamb made you ill? At least the CT scan show significant improvement. Big Yay for you on that account. What are the consequences for changing the time of your LDN? This came up this week on the LDN list, and all they said was take the meds according to the timezone of the new country you are traveling to. Can you get hold of the DL-Phenylalanine, to increase the range of the endorphins? I think it's a good plan to stick with the simple food you are eating and see how you do - if you can maintain that diet and your daily health stabilizes then stick it out. If not, consider coming home. > Israel trip is not going as planned. > I have what looks like 2 pancreatitis attacks since I have been here. > I never knew I had pancreatitis. > First one was so violent I ended up in the ER- vomiting green bile > full of retching and orange/pale stools. > Yesterday, I ate a lamb roast which was a nono causing me disasterous > pain again.
