Guest guest
Judy, You are such a trooper! I am so glad that family came together to get things set up so you can be safer at home. I so amazes me at the number of people that are willing to help when we ask. They just don't know what to do unless we tell them. When had his heart surgery 3 summers ago, I had started on high dose pred therapy 2 days before, and so between the two, I was so wired and out of it. Fortunately, one of the ladies he works with came over with a couple of casseroles that just had to go in the oven, and we had dinner. I don't know how I'd made it thru without her kindness. I hope that today is special for you, Tracie
Guest guest
I want to say thanks to everyone who has written such wonderful thoughts and encouragement. Dr. Internest ordered some Ativan to use when I need it. I have only taken one. It's a comfort to know tjey are there if I need them. Pain level has greatly decreased since I began wearing the hinged brace. My son and my husband replaced all the piping that was destroyed when the wall fell. They did that in about 5 hours last night so I n ow h ave a bathroom that I can get to. Also my transfer bench came last night so I had a wonderful long shower ( h and held strayer in the bath tube) and hair wash. Makes you feel like a new woman. Three friends came over tuesday night to let me know they would be there for me. I was really surprised because they all work and are very bust with other things. But I am not afraid to let people know what I need. We discussed my fear of being in the hospital alone, they said we can make a schedule to that someone will be there with me in case I have any mental difficulties. High doses of steroids seem to give me panic attach type feelings. Never have them anytime but when I have high doses of steroids. My nerves seem ok during the day but start up at dusk. Working on that. Wishing everyoone a wonderful thanksgiving. Thanks again Judy > Judy, unfortunately steroids ruin your bones and make them more susceptible to breaking. I ran around with a broken wrist for almost a week because the ER doctor did not read the xray correctly all I knew is that my wrist hurt like mad and was not getting any better if anything it was getting worse because I told myself to quit being such a baby and probably used it in ways I shouldn't the orthopedic surgeon I see for my hip called and said yep its broke and come on in to get it set and casted, I know that that does not even compare with the pain you are going around with but it definitely shows how much damage our bones are getting but unfortunately with our disease we have to take the medications that will sometimes ruin our bones. Take care, and I too will be praying for you because unfortunately I don't think I live close enough to you to really help, I have been off the internet so much I am not sure where a lot of you live but I live in Texas. Remember that God knows exactly how much we can bear and He is always there to pick up the slack or handle or cross for us. Guest guest
Actually I am doing much better. Things have settled down and my pain level has decreased since they gave me this velcro long leg splint. I'm not suppose to be doing any weight bearing on my left leg which is hard to do when transfering. The wheelchair is working out, actually got out to the movies last weekend, saw the Last Samari which was a terrific movie. The support that I have received from everyone is so wonderful it really does help a lot. Judy

Guest guest
Girl, This was not how it was supposed to go for you. Know that you will be kept in my prayers. I know that the IV antibiotics are such a drain-- but man do they work! Hang in, take care of yourself--actually let the others take care of you for now! Know you are loved, Tracie
