Marg,

I like you have a house full of senior furkids. We lost three last year, two

within 2 wks of each other. It broke our hearts b/c we couldn't do anything

to save them. I even felt horrible guilt. But you are doing a tremendous thing

for these " kids " . You are sooo needed by them and they know they are loved.

Isn't the love you give them the most important thing? It truly doesn't

matter in the end whether they've lived 3 yrs. or 13 yrs. as long as they know

they were loved and you are providing that for them. I wish I could just tell

you not to feel suicidal but I know that's not the answer. I would give

anything for you not to feel this way but my saying it just isn't enough. I will

tell you that you ARE needed and loved in return. This babies know what you are

doing for them and they DO need you! As you need them.

BTW-I had Dachshunds for 37 yrs. I miss the little buggers. We have 6 dog

kids and 2 kittie kids now. They are a handful but well whole it! They know

they are loved!

Marg, I am here most of the time if you want to talk. We can talk animals,

fibro or anything else you want to talk about. I'd love another fellow animal

lover friend!!!!! E-mail me privately if you'd like--anytime. The only heads

up I will give you is that I'm dealing with a very archaic computer that has

issues often so I may go AWOL on occasion. As soon as I possibly can I would

get back to you though. That's a promise!

Blessings,

~Jennie

I'm sorry your Dachshund received such poor care. I know the grief must be

so overwhelming. I agree with Janie. You are doing a wonderful service and

your other furbabies still need you. I suppose vets probably get God

complexes like docs do at times. They don't want to listen to the person

who lives with the patient every day and can often instinctively diagnose

the patient. All they know is they are the one with the impressive degree,

so without that the rest of us are probably idiots.

I truly hope you get past feeling suicidal. You are a worthwhile

person, and though you don't post real often here, I know you are a valued

member of the group. Please take care of yourself. We care.

Dear Marg,

The furry friends definitely need you and we need u too. I can relate to

the vets not doing what they are supposed to, I had bad experience with my own

13 yrs old dog last year and ended up having to put her to sleep. I won't go

into all the details. I do have another dog, couldn't live without one. My

doggie is my baby.Looking forward to reading more of your posts and telling us

about ur furry friends. I have a mix of chow and golden retriever and she is

very smart,2 yrs old, got her at humane society and I believe she had been

being abused by previous owners.Hope you are feeling better.
