Guest guest
Hi Shirley, "Welcome back, Shirley...we all missed you. I know you are having a pretty rough time right now so take it easy and we will understand if you don't post right now. You need your rest to completely recover from your surgery and sitting at the PC won't help you heal. I will keep you in my prayers and soon you will feel much better. I see you're online and I started to send you an IM but I'm sure you don't feel like chatting right now...we'll do that later when you are feeling better. Again, I'm glad you are back and your surgery is behind you! We all love you!!! Hugs & Prayers Carole

I can only eat a couple of bites so it is rough going right now. I will probably have to go back on the feeding tube Monday. I dread that since it makes me so sick to my stomach. I will probably try it at a slow rate. I won't be writing very much for a while but I will try to read your postings. Thank you all so very much for all the cards, kind words, thoughts and especially prayers. I love you all and missed you terribly. I want to tell you all about my experience as soon as I feel well enough. Thanks so much Jim for calling and informing the group about my progress. That was so thoughtful of you. Love, Shirley >> Welcome home Miss Shirley!!!! We will be anxiously awaiting your story as soon as you feel up to it!!! Get your rest and just lie back and get well!!!!! You deserve it. Sorry to hear you are still having lots of pain. Did your surgeon give any estimate as to how long it would be before you would start feeling better? I hope you will heal quickly & have many healthy, pain-free years ahead. jang
Guest guest
Welcome back home, you brave soul. Sorry to hear you are still having lots of pain. Did your surgeon give any estimate as to how long it would be before you would start feeling better? I hope you will heal quickly & have many healthy, pain-free years ahead. jang Thanks Jang, actually today is not too bad. I am tired and should have taken a nap but I didn't want to miss out on anything. Also when I lay down the phone always rings so it is useless to try to take a nap. Jang is has only been five weeks and I can feel myself improving everyday. Somedays are worse than others but I will make it. Even with the aftermath of the surgery I can still feel that I am stronger from not having the pancreas inside me. I am nauseated sometimes, tired, painful legs and arms, weak but I am getting better everyday. I wish I craved food more. But that is better also. I must be patient and it will all come. I know it will. Thank God. Love, Shirley

Just be patient with the healing process. I have the tendency to want to push it as well and have to work real hard to respect my limitations and just accept where I am at in the process each day. This has been hard for me because I don't like to be told that I can't do something I want to do or feel I need to do. I've been fortunate that I have had an extended period of reasonably acceptable health, however I know when I have another acute period I will have to again work on these issues. I hope you have many more good days ahead of you! :-) Sandy
