Guest guest
now that you mention it, yeah i have... wonder if maybe that has anything to do with why i have such bad dizziness (even while sitting)? > > This is something I haven't mentioned before, though I have had 'tests' done concerning it. I seem to have a 'linear' vision problem. It's hard to explain, but straight lines often appear to be going off at an angle. It causes things to look 'off center'. If I measure them, and I often have, as it makes me crazy to think it's only my mind playing tricks, the distance is equal between the two sides, but doesn't appear so to me. I have had my vision tested, and it's nothing to do with my eyes, so it's obviously a 'quirk' in my brain. Has anyone else had anything like this? > > Peace and Love > Caroline > > ____________________________________________________________ > GET FREE 5GB EMAIL - Check out spam free email with many cool features! > Visit http://www.crawler.com/email to find out more! >
Guest guest
Wow, that is strange. I think it would drive me nuts, too. I'm surprised the eye docs don't know why that is. Guest guest
I have sight problems....but different from what you describe. I see things moving that aren't...this is usually when a migraine is going to hit. Also, when my kids are doing thing over and over...like spinning or bouncing a ball, it affects my vision. It makes me dizzy. Also windshield wipers that are on and then off for a few seconds and then back on again. It doesn't bother me if they are on all the time, just the intermittent ones. I also think it's in my head...because I have a good eye doctor, and just saw him in Sept. I also find myself closing my left eye in order to see better. I have the same thing with hearing. I can't hear, I have to turn the tv up very loud, turn on the captions. I watch people's mouths when they talk so I can understand what they're saying. And yet, when I went to get my hearing checked, turns out I have better hearing than most people my age. I think it's a brain thing...I really do. I wonder if it's a little know symptom, cause, or effect of fibro? nancie Caroline Witte wrote: This is something I haven't mentioned before, though I have had 'tests' done concerning it. Guest guest
With the hearing thing, ever since I was little, I have tested very well on hearing tests, but I have ALWAYS had trouble with the whole turning sounds into words thing. I can hear a person talking, but I can't really tell what they are saying unless I am kinda reading their lips. I usually watch tv with the captions on or have it rather loud. In fact, I didn't even learn how to talk until I was 6 years old, and that was with speech therapy. hugs amanda This is something I haven't mentioned before, though I have had 'tests' done concerning it. Guest guest
I know, I have some of those things as well. I do know the difference between a migraine aura and some of the vision things. If I stare at something for a few minutes, I will often see it in '3-D'. I often see things moving when they aren't as well. It is so strange what our brains will do. I also have temporal lobe epilepsy, and though it is treated, I do wonder if that isn't part of it. One's temporal lobe is what is usually concerned in hallucinations, so maybe they are just a type of hallucination? Who knows. There is just so much weird stuff that happens to us. Maybe it happens to 'normals' too, and we just don't hear about it. Peace and Love Caroline > I have sight problems....but different from what you describe.
