Guest guest
The fibro network sent this to me today thought I would share with group as I do not know who all gets this. Lori H Flare Information There are many things you can do when faced with a flare. Patients tell us not to wait until the pain is out of control before taking steps to manage it. Recognize or admit that you are headed for trouble. Take a deep breath and don’t panic. Think back to another episode that you seemed to manage fairly well, taking note of what worked and what did not. Members told us they combine medications with mental diversionary tactics and a touch of pampering to see it through symptom flares. Slow down your lifestyle and physical activities for a while. Lessen the stress to reduce anxiety. Getting the whole body warm was a very important step in overcoming a flare according to the majority of our Members. Suggestions include hot baths, hot showers, hot packs, wraps, ointments, skin creams, foot baths, heating pads, thermal wraps, saunas, and sunshine. Get comfortable and relax as soon as you can sneak a break from your work schedule. “I adjust my expectations of what I need to get accomplished. Amazingly, I found out that the house, dishes, yard, etc. don’t go anywhere if I don’t do the work. I finally learned to stop making my family and myself crazy about it. I just have to stop and do what’s necessary to help myself.” --------------------------------- Never miss a thing. Make Yahoo your homepage.
