Guest guest
Oh no! Have to remember that one for next year. Lois Lang's bread calls for dry curd cottage cheese, and I can't do dairy (yet?). But thanks! Maybe I can find a similar but dairy free bread in one of my new SCD cookbooks, and just throw caraway seeds in it. I appreciate the idea! Marilyn Feeling the pinch at the grocery store? Make meals for under $10.

Guest guest
I intend to. But I’m finding I can eat fairly advanced foods at this point. (Whether that is or not, I don’t know.) I’ve bought some uncooked corned beef into which I’ll put various spices. There’s no sugar of any kind in it. Beef is “corned” primarily with salt. There may be some other preservatives in it, but nothing that looked illegal to me. n From: BTVC-SCD [mailto:BTVC-SCD ] On Behalf Of sahmomof9@... You can make it 100% from scratch and it isnt hard (thats what Im doing). Just use beef brisket. I cant imagine that the store bought corned beef doesnt have illegal ingredients. It is basically lunch meat. Me also. I meant to experiment with corning a nice bison brisket I have in my freezer, but then my Mom ended up in the hospital, and things went downhill from there. — Marilyn New Orleans, Louisiana, USA Undiagnosed IBS since 1976, SCD since 2001 Darn Good SCD Cook No Human Children Shadow & Sunny Longhair Dachshund
Guest guest
But it isn’t “cured” (corned, in this case) with sugar, as almost all “lunch meat” is. That’s a big difference. n From: BTVC-SCD [mailto:BTVC-SCD ] On Behalf Of celiacwhits Sent: Monday, March 16, 2009 10:42 PM To: BTVC-SCD Subject: Re: St. 's Day dinner Hmmm....that would make me nervous.
