Guest guest
WOW, what did they use to do the scope??? Every now & then, I get frothing, but usually if I have eaten too fast or too much. Esp if I am in the family dinner mode and making sure everyone has everything. I lose track of what *I* am eating! Duh. Only been 7 yrs, you'd think I'd get the hang of it. However, I scope without hesitation, never had any problems with it. Was your throat sore? Guest guest
Dear (NJ), I have had what I call the " foamies " several times. It seems to be set off (for me) by MSG and/or high carbs and sugar connected with overeating. The last time I had it it was from unsweetened tea that I drank on an empty stomach??? Doesn't seem to have just one reason for happening. I have heard it discussed over other list as well. I don't have it quite as bad as you discribe, but it sure is a pain. The MSG and carbs seem to set it off worse than anything else. It was worse when I was only a few weeks out from surgery and I haven't had it at all in the last 4 months. Just as a thought, have you tried something like GasX? I mean, it looks just like those commercials you see where they put this stuff into a glass of bubbles and it gets rid of them. I have to wonder if this is what is going on...our tiny tummies just aren't big enough for those bubbles and they have to come back out. Hope things get better for you. Guest guest
In our live support group, that is known as the foamies and it is caused by overeating. Eat smaller quantities and this shouldn't happen anymore. ) Vicki In a message dated 09/04/2001 4:40:39 PM Pacific Daylight Time, Pianoleigh@... writes: > I'm 20 months post-op and many times after I eat, nothing in particular sets > it off, I vomit white foam. I was having SEVERE acid reflux but haven't had anything since my surgery. I know I'm going to have to be " responsible " and get a scope done. I guess I just needed to hear that people have experienced this and I wasn't just losing my mind. Thanks for everyone's suggestions and info. I'll keep you posted to what happens.
