Hi :

Permit me to throw in my two cents worth. I've had urticaria with

angio-edema and anaphylaxis/anaphylactoid rx's for 1 1/2 yrs. My hives

and " shocks " were at their worst when my botched root canal was becoming

more and more painful (the tooth was cracked and the bacteria was

leaking into the socket from the tooth). My decision was an easy one to

make. I pulled that tooth as soon as I could. The horrible fatigue is

gone and hives are greatly diminished, and for the most part under

control (if I avoid all triggers and take z/z). I'm not sure if the

tooth caused the hives, but my Allergist says any infection from

bacteria or virus would definitely make the hives/shocks worse, as well

as any life stresses (marriages amok, work stress, depression, etc.)

I've also noticed I take forever to heal from scratches, colds etc.

Like you - sex was out of the question, exercise, heat, lifting heavy

objects, lots of foods made it worse, horrible sensitivity to smells,

etc.

I'm not saying what YOU should do. However if I were in a similar

situation I would look at the facts as you stated them. #1. The hives

started shortly after the original root canal. (doesn't mean the root

canal caused them but it's hard not to ignore the timing). #2. You had

the tooth re-treated and you felt better? (Again, they may not have

gotten all the bacteria, and these nasty little anaerobic bacteria put

out BAD toxins). #3. Hives are affecting your quality of life?

.. . . . . . . . . . . I don't know. . . . . All I can reiterate is that

since I pulled the tooth I have felt SO much better, still hiving but

much less severe.

I'm having an implant done again in 6 months, body rejected 1st one.
