Guest guest
Hi to all, Today I am 10 days out, surgery was on June 28th. I had my best day yesterday. I am sleeping better so I have more energy during the day. I have absolutely so more pain or pulling from the lap procedure. I am able to cut pills in half and keep them down. Tuesday I took off my blood pressure patch the hospital put on, I was to take a pill if my blood pressure was over 120 on top, I have not needed a pill yet (big yea!). I am getting really tired of liquids and trying to get an ounce in every 15 minutes. I found Rasberry Ice powder at Walmart and started drinking that and am doing a little better. I eat 2 oz (I put my food in a 2 oz. cup the hospital gave me) 3 times a day on stage 2 food. I miss food alot, the better I feel, the more I miss it. However, the 12 pounds I have lost seem to make up for that. I have lost a total of 46 pounds and look and feel so much better. The inches I have lost must be alot because all of my clothes just hang on me. I started driving on Tues because I hadn't had Vicodin since Sunday. I haven't even had the need for Tylenol, it's so amazing to me. My prayers are with everyone that is trying to be approved and playing the waiting game for orientation. Such a huge waiting game, it took me 11 months to get to surgery. Just play the game and be patient, it will be so worth it when you get there. I hope everyone has such an easy recovery as I have had (I hope I am not speaking too soon). Carol
Guest guest
Carol: I'm happy that things are going so well for you! Isn't is great!? Don't worry about the food you miss. Soon enough you will be well enough to eat real protein, and it's amazing how satisfying it really is. I remember my first scrambled egg post-op when I was approved to go to the next stage. It was the most yummy thing I can remember eating! It really filled me up. Keep us updated as you progress through your stages. Guest guest
Hi Carol, That is great news about the blood pressure medication. One of the best things about this surgery is seeing those co-morbidities disappear. Missing food as you feel better is normal - at least, I hope so because I went through a period where I was thoroughly obsessed with food - I didn't exactly want to eat, but I couldn't stop thinking about food. Thank goodness that phase is long past. Congrats on that 12-lb (46-lb) loss. And, that's just the beginning. ;-) All the best, Kay in San Leandro open RNY 12/1/03 carol colwell wrote: > Hi to all, > Today I am 10 days out, surgery was on June 28th.
