Guest guest
My name is Darilyn. I joined Weight Watchers for the first time on 1/31/2004. My starting weight was 222.4. Thursday (Week 6), I weighed 204.8 and had lost 17.6. I joined with a friend, but she just quit last week. I could use some weight loss buddies. I've enjoyed reading your past posts. It's nice to meet you. Darilyn http://www.pagebypage.com/whatsnew.htm

Guest guest
Hi, : It's funny. I actually hadn't even thought about joining. My friend pondered it for several weeks. I kind of just went along. To be honest, I had a challenging health scare that came up the day after I joined. The health thing came out OK. I found myself thinking that it would have been nice to feel stronger to meet the challenge. It helped me decide for the first time in my life to eat in a healthy fashion and exercise because it just plain made sense. (Not because of the way I looked.) Anyway, it all just came together for me. I'm not quite sure all the reasons my friend quit. It was her fourth time joining Weight Watchers. She seemed determined at the start, but she started drifting away the third week. One thing my friend told me really struck home. She had lost all the weight she wanted twice. She looked me in the eyes and told me to just plan on eating in this new way my whole life. It's not a diet, but a lifestyle. People come back to the program because it works. But you can't return to old habits and expect the weight to stay off. Thanks for all the nice words of welcome. I do like the local meetings and I'm already meeting very nice people. There's not a lot of time to chat before the meetings, though. It's nice to have a place to " visit " with people sharing the same expereience. Darilyn http://www.pagebypage.com/whatsnew.htm > Hi. You came to the right place? Why did your friend quit? I did that once (started WW with a friend and quit after a while) and he lost a ton of weight - it killed me to see him all the time (a platonic guy friend). I just saw him last night for the first time in 2 yrs and he still kept the weight off. In fact he said he gained 15 lbs because he quit smoking, and he is back to counting because he is getting married in June and wants to be trimed. It really makes me think as to what where I would have been had I stuck it out with him. > >
